[history]
Robin, The Ranting Raven has a hilarious angle on the CBS Killian documents, from one of the world's premier experts on forgery, Frank Abagnale Jr. who's story was the basis for the 2002 box office smash 'Catch Me if You Can.'
Robin sent an email to Mr. Abagnale, and recieved this reply.
Dear Robin, Thank you for your email. Though Mr. Abagnale has not seen the actual documents from what he has been on television he believes the documents are forgeries. He feels that this should be evident to anyone of any knowledge of forged documents.
I can tell you that he sent an e-mail to Neil Cavuto of 'Your World' on Fox News Network (he knows him personally) that stated: 'If my forgeries had looked as bad as the CBS documents, the movie would have been titled 'Catch Me in Two Days.'

Two days. LOL. Doesn't say much for CBS, does it? Also makes me think that whoever ginned these up wanted the forgery to come out.

actually we do not know WHO did this, just that it was done......but since these memos are already airing in a kerry commercial slamming Bush, I think we know where they came from.

Frank Abagnale Jr., of course, was the inspiration for the character of "Mr. Woodman" on the hit 1970s sit-com, "Welcome Back Kotter." He was the master-mind principal that suggested to the good-hearted but gullible teacher, Gabe Kotter (Gabe Kaplan), that the absence-excuse notes turned in by Juan Epstein (Robert Hegyes) may not, in fact, be authentic. It was the Abagnale/Woodman character that solved the mystery of why Epstein's mother would refer to herself as "Epstein's mother" when signing them.

'If my forgeries had looked as bad as the CBS documents, the movie would have been titled 'Catch Me in Two Days.' This just seems way too easy. Almost like they intended to get caught. I guess it does not matter as long as Kerry remains the contender I'm happy.
