THE AMC PROJECT: RATED R: REPUBLICANS IN HOLLYWOOD Deserved or not, Hollywood has a left-wing reputation. But could Hollywood be more conservative than we think? This is the question award-winning documentary filmmaker and former Democratic speechwriter Jesse Moss tries to answer in this special AMC Project. He examines recent phenomena, such as Arnold Schwarzenegger's election to California's highest office, Mel Gibson's unapologetically Christian hit The Passion of The Christ, and the debates over "patriotism" spawned by the war in Iraq. Tune in and find out if Hollywood is primed for a right-wing resurgence. Tuesday, September 14 at 10PM ET/PT.
Moss was on FoxNews today discussing the film.
"Tune in and find out if Hollywood is primed for a right-wing resurgence. Tuesday, September 14 at 10PM ET/PT."
Let me save everyone an hour--no it's not.
In fact, at the screening of Speedo, he mentioned he was working on a politcal film several times and there was no way you could guess which side of the aisle he would fall on.
I'll be sure to watch.
Don't forget, 5 or 6 conservatives in Hollywood constitutes a VRWC...
True...but ya gotta start somewhere.
You folks might want to click on the link to American Movie Classics and look down below Arnold's picture. Low and behold, there is a discussion link! Lots of lib posts that can be responded to!!!! Yahooooo!!!
Sorry, I ain't buying it.
I think it was well-known that John Wayne was a Republican. I look forward to seeing something on that.
Watching now, thanks for posting.
I'm pleasantly surprised to find that Patricia Heaton and Vincent Gallo are both on the 'right' side. ;)
This story was in the Tempo Section of the Chicago Tribune today... Best quote: Drew Carey [paraphrase - too lazy to look up] "I'm Libertarian - a Conservative who still likes to get high"... LMAO
Was John Wayne Gay?
Ever seen Repo Man?
Actually, he had the same taste in women as Clemenza.
I see this will re-air at 3:00 A.M. Eastern Time. Trying to decide if I want to stay up for it. Should I?
Decent job - Everybody got their two or three minutes in. Ben Stein was the only one who got it right about Arnold. He's no conservative. He signed the bill banning the .50 caliber BMG rifle today! Could he have got a Kennedy gene through osmosis - like from his wife ?
Re-Air on now.
It was a pretty good show. Will run again on 9/19, I think.
According to one of those interviewed, a Republican producer, that as more and more MBA's are getting jobs in Hollywood, who are politically conservative and fed up with the PC culture of their college experiences, they are slowly changing the place. He said that a vote for President held with the under 35 Hollywood crowd would elect a Republican.
I watched it. All I can say is it wasn't horrible.
I think what you described in post #21, SoCal Pubbie, was the soundbite of the whole documentary.
If he was, he had a lot of kids. Didn't he marry again later in life and sire a couple more?
