"Kerry Lied while Good Men Died." That was one of the chants today on Capitol Hill.
You probably didn't see much of it in the so-called "mainstream" media, but on September 12, 2004 in Washington a rally was held at the U.S. Capitol by a group calling themselves "Vietnam Vets for the Truth." They spoke of having healed from their many physical wounds, but contrasted those with the un-healed wounds that Sen. John Kerry's words had inflicted on them during the Vietnam War and re-opened now with his audacious bid for the Presidency. While many of them were still fighting to keep South Vietnam free from Communist tyranny, Kerry was calling them "war criminals" before Congress and meeting with the enemy in Paris. He's the only Presidential candidate with his picture in a place of honor in the enemy's museum. A sign at the rally called him a "Hanoi John Kerry, Viet Cong war Hero."
It was a passionate but orderly crowd, yet you could see the frustration in the faces of many of the veterans there. One speaker mentioned that Dan Rather of CBS news was standing by his story about the 'new' documents concerning Lieutenant G.W. Bush's Guard service. Then he reminded us that, back in the 1970's, Dan Rather had also stood by his story about the authenticity of fake Vietnam Vets who "confessed" to bogus war crimes. Kerry and his Leftist collaborators stole the valor from our Vietnam Vets. In this crowd today were proud men and some angry men; men who remembered that Kerry threw away his medals (or were theya someone else's medals?), lied about the brave service of our military and even mocked the sacred Iwo Jima Memorial for an anti-war protest... in his re-enactment the American flag was upside down. Men died to raise that flag and Kerry desecrated it and slandered their honor. Now this man wants to be our President and Commander-in-Chief.
Vietnam Vets for the Truth believe that he is unfit for duty and on Sunday they told the world why. If you didn't attend the rally and are a vet, you might want to check out their website at "http://www.kerrylied.com/"
We also met a very nice couple, carrying an armload of signs. The woman was Zung Le, who was evacuated from Vietnam four days before America pulled out. She's now an American citizen working at the Centers for Disease Control and was at the rally because she wanted to show her support to the veterans who fought for her people's freedom. You can see her picture and others of the rally at "http://peterandhelenevans.com/pho-vetsrally.html" She explained to us that we weren't defeated militarily in Viet Nam, but we gave up politically. Time after time the North Vietnamese were ready to surrender, but then our forces would pull back and give theirs yet another chance to re-group. We know John Kerry's group had alot to do with undermining our nation's will back then.
A note on the tone of the rally; it began with the singing of the National Anthem and American flags were proudly flown everywhere we could see.

I watched the whole thing on CSPAN.
Excellent speakers. I'm glad these veterans are on our side. Who's Kerry got? Nobody but "butterfingers.
It should be: "BECAUSE KERRY LIED, GOOD MEN DIED!"

Actually I have access to the Associated Press photo base and the only thing they are offering is
one decent crowd shot WHICH NO NEWSPAPER I CAN FIND USED
one shot of the guy in the wheelchair trying to disrupt the rally WHICH QUITE A FEW USED WRONGLY and implied our people were ganging up on the guy. In this picture the guy is yelling and Carol is trying to get him to shut up so the rally can go on and one of the Rolling Thunder guys is trying to keep things cool. That's it.
one shot is four guys all alone on a bench looking as if that were the whole rally THANKFULLY I HAVEN'T SEEN THIS ONE USED EITHER.

I've been cleaning this morning and formulating a conspiracy theory while listening to Boortz.
I think Kerry's campaign knew this rally was going to be big and do damage. So they leaked the fake memo to CBS, knowing that it would break just before the weekend and suck the O2 out of the news cycle into this week, thereby giving the media (who didn't really want to cover anything negative for him anyway) has a valid reason not to cover.
I'm amazed. I wish the bloggers would please get on this rally story. It's just like the Swift Vets...completely ignored for months until the media was FORCED to cover it.
