I think Rather did not know the memos were fake initially. If he had doubts, he figured that he had reasonable backup for his opinion.

Now that they are clearly fakes... he needs to acknowledge that.

Good question, I am sure that there will be a lot of folks who want to get the real news....not spoon-fed & kooked by old farts with extreme bias. The Adverts will need to reach the enlightened consumers.

This is the reason that the Washington Post and LATimes et al had to stop FR from using their printed stuff. They were being picked apart to such a degree that their credibility was waining at an alarming rate. They kept losing subscribers (and so should all their spin-offs).

They have seen the light in the past. They knew they had to "board" the "right" bus this time!

However.......................it's kinda neat that the morons of Big Media HAVE to condescend and admit that we loners in pj's (ahem) whupped their butts in getting this story ripped apart. That...that, you just gotta love. :) Besides, call it "advertising". The last time we saw such a surge in membership was during the Lewinsky/Clinton impeachment era.
