I kind of hope that Hanoi John Effing Kerry does try to apologize Thursday.

That would provide the National Guardsmen and women attending the convention an opportunity to loudly boo and (hopefully) turn their backs on him and would give us yet another opportunity to point out his insincerity.

E.g., yet another "flip-flop."

No one in America with the brain capacity larger than a sparrow believes anything Hanoi John Effing Kerry means anything he says, anyway. His fake apology would keep the Vietnam issue in the news cycle for a few more days, and further sink his candidacy.

Bring it on, Hanoi John!

The really lousy part is that it turns out that Kerry originally enlisted in the Naval Reserve himself after being turned down for another draft deferment. It would also be nice to know why he didn't get an honorable discharge until about twenty years after his enlistment was set to expire, there is no record of his being in a Reserve status or otherwise retained by the Navy during the intervening years.

Thank you for your service.

When this election is over and Bush has won by a wide margin, the analysis will begin (if not before). Years hence, people will ask, "What was this doofus Kerry thinking? Did he hate Bush that much that he was willing to insult a huge core of voters?"

I saw on another thread that he was greeted rather coldly...almost no applause at points in the speech where it was expected. It is apparently being replayed by C-Span.

Kerry will NOT do this because he is a mega-narcissist pompous lunatic.

I think the reason he won't do this is that he wants to win the presidency having a mandate to dismantle the military.

If his antimilitary position is clear and he wins, he can do what he wants with the military.

After all, he is a communist.

And a traitor.
