Police respect the freedom of individuals to practice Wiccan . . . he said.

God, writers are stupid these days. One does not practice Wiccan. One IS a Wiccan. Let's try it like this.

Wicca, Wiccan :: Catholicism, Catholic :: Episcopalianism, Episcopal.

If you can't get your terms straight, boyee, we don't have much reason to believe anything else you write.

I think a lot of the craziness is from meth use.

Where did you get THAT theory from? I agree, the area is pretty messed up, but I don't know how you came up with that theory.

The neck bomber was in Erie, several hundred miles away. Still wierd, though.

It could happen to anyone who watches Mainstream Television too much.

Outstanding image!

Each year, I have the exact same thing displayed in my own front yard. It is a good reminder to not get too drunk.

Meth use is known to produce paranoia.

I don't know where he got his theory but paranoia is a side effect of Meth use, it increases with prolonged use, but I think the guy in the story is just a lill ,messed up in the head naturaly, at least the story didnt mention meth.

For your information, I was the largest source of money their first year, when that website was being established.

No harm intended. It's an awesome site. I visit often. There's one witch in our town that says she's... oops, never mind.

Times Leader hates Bush. Check the web site now and you will see all the hate mail always gets posted. Never the positive. I know because I am always sending mail and it never gets in the paper.

There's one witch in our town that says she's... oops, never mind.

Now that is a different subject.

Most "pagans" that I know are not packing a full lunch. They are not even willing to call themselves Wiccan, since that would require some belief in a God.

Fritz and Wren are the real thing.

However, I will be the first person to admit that a majority of "pagans" have a few screws loose.

I did not consider your comments as harmful in any way.

Personally, I favor a requirement of annual standardized testing, limited to reading and math -- no fuzzy math, values-loaded reading stuff, just the absolute non-controversial basics, and a short test (no more than an hour or so. If kids learn to read well before age 9 or so, they'll be able to catch up on other stuff later on -- if they don't, they'll never learn to read well. It's not really a significant imposition on a homeschooling parents to show up once a year for such a tset, as long as plenty of scheduling flexibility is provided.

And the public and private school kids should be subjected to the same test, and passing scores should be pegged to the performance of public school kids -- say, as long as your kids are at or above the level of the bottom 10% of public school kids the same age, you pass. And if your kids pass at a level 2,3,4 years ahead of that, then they don't have to show up for testing again for that many years. Under such a system, most homeschooled kids would be done with annual testing by age 8, since we know what the 10th percentile performance of public high school seniors is like.

Netmilsmom, I'm going to ping you on this as well and try to get your thoughts because you home-school and you are 4-H.

GS:

What you say is true.

I am generally in favor of homeschooling.

Sadly, in our 4-H club, there is a large family that homeschools, and something bad is going on there, we are pretty sure.

( Dad has been thrown out, CPS HAS been contacted more than once!)

There are 4 kids, between the ages of 7 and 17.

Wifey schools the kids, and it is MOST unclear if any of those kids can read, write or do simple math. Based on their projects or when you speak to them, they cannot.

Wifey keeps the drive-way blockaded with branches, ( to keep the Bad People out! ) and will not return e-mails or answer her phone.

She and those kids are seen at all hours of the day and night simply wandering town... the kids are too thin and too pale and ALWAYS wear long sleeves and full length pants, even in the hottest weather.

Wifey quotes from Scripture constantly, yet she never does what she says she will do. And she back-bites the kid's father against them.

Her kids don't bathe but once a month because more is "sinful".

Those kids simply reek, especially in the heat and after a day in the barns.

The kids are evaisive and skittish in the light and they have no manners.
They are also WAY too thin, ( Wifey is QUITE plump!) and they hoard food.

I've seen several cases of abuse and these signs make me VERY suspicious.

Dad is trying hard to get custody of his kids, and I may be soon writing a letter to "Friend of the Court"

I'd like to see Dad get custody of his kids, simply to save them.

Any advice?

I LIKE the idea of home-schooling, but it IS a place for nut-jobs to conceal what they do.

Now, why did you find this story important enough to share with us Freepers?

Oh, maybe because Limbaugh takes quite a number of calls from Wilkes-Barre, PA.

From a political POV, they all seem to be obsessed with GWB being evil.
