does it look like the soldier is chest-deep in sand?

Correct. Quicksand.

Very odd. Maybe our weapons experts can tell us what kind of gun that is.

This ad hurts Kerry.

This is the part of the equation that the Democrats (the party of Perjury, Obstruction of Justice, and Socialism) don't get.

This sort of tactic will be a large factor in the Bush landslide...

My take....
Being 11B.....it looks like he's either keeping his weapon dry or pointing towards the enemy.
But, it looks like M.O. is portraying our soldiers as surrendering in a quagmire of quicksand. I'm sure to most of the Military hating left this looks like a perfectly normal, do anything to harm President Bush, win at all costs mentality.
I think it will backfire, making people who see this naseuous.

Chyron is the name of a company that manufactures character generators for the video industry. As others have already told you, it's referring to onscreen text.

Sounds strangely like the DNC talking points of the past two weeks.

I find this really outrageous.

And it contains the Traitor's argument-- "We could have spent $200 billion on Head Start if Bush hadn't gone to Iraq."

There is a really, really good chance that the Traitor will be blamed for this ad-- the Traitor should really ask his neighbor Soros to pull this ad.

The Traitor has tried to package himself like an Audie Murphy figure. The Swiftees have shown the Real Kerry, but some still might say that was a long time ago. This ad shows that the Traitor is still betraying and slandering America's heroes and providing aid and comfort to the Nation's enemies.

I hope this ad is seen by all Americans.

I'm not sure, but I think maybe that's a play on, "The documents are fake but accurate."

Oh, it's a total fake. It's a metrosexual actor dressed up like an American soldier.

NARRATOR: "George Bush misled us into war with Iraq, sending poorly equipped soldiers into battle. He said 'Mission Accomplished,' yet almost every day more soldiers die."

my! where do they have the audacity to spread such blatant misleading propaganda!?!?!? The blind leading the blinder!

I hate to break the news to the moronic commies at moveon but that pic is not an American GI "surrendering"...
a combatant who is "surrendering" lays down his/her weapon and then throws up his/her arms...

If any of the clowns at moveon had spent one day in combat they would know that. LMAO

Semper Fi,
Kelly

The reason this is bad strategy is that most Americans think that Bush is a better war leader, and most Americans do, honorably, support their troops. Images that purport to show soldiers in distress can only convince the few undecided voters left that a vote for Bush will help end that distress.

The left is trying to make the argument that the Iraq war is less important than domestic spending, but their tactics will convey the opposite message to most Americans. There is a very small segment on the far left that hates America and the War on Terror, and they are trying to convert people to the hate-Bush mentality. This is why they continue to lose voters. A lot of people vote Democrat because they always have or their Daddy did. They are losing these voters because most Americans define themselves as patriots, and patriots defend their country and their troops. If the Dems were smart, they would have Kerry propose vast spending for the military, a new strategy that includes taking out Iran and Syria within the next few months, and closing US borders. Then they would get converts.
