Dean's former campaign Manager just mentioned a "theory" he heard that the documents were actually made in 1972, but were later scanned, changing the font. Anything is possible when you don't understand how anything happens.

Actuall, the fonts were changed when the documents were "transported" from the bridge of the Enterprise into Burkett's mailbox. At least that's what I heard.
