How Kerry Hood-winked Talk Radio
Swift Veterans for Truth ^ | 9/17/04 | Geoffrey

Posted on 09/18/2004 9:37:58 AM PDT by Repub4bush

Kerry knew in 2002 when he was preparing his "search committee" that, if his Senate record became an issue or was even talked about on talk radio, they would start at the beginning: 1985. If they did, he knew he was done-for. So he had to come up with some way of distracting conservative talk radio. I guess he rolled the dice and figured he would rather weather the storm over his post-Vietnam activites than have anyone talk about his first four years as a Senator. He probably figured his military record was enough to pull a few pro-military/anti-Bush conservatives while his "activist" record would win-over all of the liberal yahoos. 51% is a win in a two-way Presidential race.

I think Kerry would put up with nearly anything to keep Rush Limbaugh, Michael Savage, Mike Reagan (especially Reagan!), Laura Ingram, et. al. from talking about his "negotiations" with Daniel Ortega. Notice his cohort, Tom Harkin (D-Iowa) has been one of the most vocal figures keeping the whole VN thing in the press.

Oddly enough, its worked. Just mention Nicaragua or Daniel Ortega and people's eyes glaze over. He was a worse butcher than Saddam -- and twice as dangerous, potentially -- and Ronald Reagan knew it. Kerry accused Reagan of getting us into another Vietnam (he trotsky's that line out every time the Boy Scouts hold a jamboree) but he was wrong. No one wants to talk about it but Kerry and Harkin violated the Constitutional seperation of powers (an impeachable offence), broke several international laws, gave a Marxist dictator the locations of US advisory teams (those teams soon disappeared) and returned from Managua with a "gentleman's agreement" with Ortega saying the US would get out of Central America, keep hand's-off the Sandanistas, let Ortega have the Atlantic Coast tribals and the Contradora if only he would stop taking Soviet military aide ("humanitarian aide" was fine) -- the same night they left he flew to Moscow to pick up an "aide" cheque for $200million from the Kremlin and a promise for more small arms, Hind helicopters and MiG fighters.

Harkin and Kerry were censured by the Senate but State and the White House were hamstrung by the press -- which called the two bozos "heroes" for giving peace a chance -- so Kerry tried to bring the Reagan administration down over Iran-Contra (a non-story ala the Rathergate memos, going on right now, and the Winter Soldier "testimony" of 1971 -- Kerry is real big on prosecuting people using made-up evidence). That didn't work so he made up the thing about the CIA starting the drug trade -- again, totally made-up BS.

Have you heard Rush and Company talking about ANY of this? Nope. Why? Because they've been distracted by all of the juicy gossip over Kerry's Hero-turned-Protester-turned-Hero (again) past and the attacks the DNC/MoveOn have launched against Bush. Conservative Talk Radio has let the liberals own the agenda.

The liberals know "we" have no voice other than talk radio and the internet -- forums like this one, blogs, and the odd, stray "conservative" news sites like Drudge and NewsMax. They know they own the newspapers, TV and pollsters. The only way to shut us up and keep Kerry's treasonous behaviour of 1985 (as opposed to his treasonous behaviour of 1971) under wraps was to divert those outlets. Shame to say it but, they were right. I tried calling Savage about this and his call screener hung up on me, "That's not even a topic..." Don't even bother trying to get through to Limbaugh.

Well, for what its worth, I've tried mentioning it on other forae before, as well, and have e-mailed all of the above talk shows and the silence from all quarters has been deafening. Nobody remembers, nobody cares, nobody wants to think about it. We did our best back in 1982-83 to stay off the front pages so we could help the Nicaraguans, Hondurans, Costa Ricans, et.al. take their countries back from the brink of Soviet-style Communism without having to worry about the press scrutinizing our every move. We did both sucessfully. Maybe a little too successfully...

Gunzup! Geoffrey

I posted this on another thread, and have received several emails, telling me I should post a thread. The poster on SBVT wants to get this out for discussion. After reading his post, I decided this was an important event in the life of Traitor Kerry. I had forgotten all the details, as he has written here.

He's way off base.

1) Americans don't KNOW who Daniel Ortega was, nor do they understand the complexities about Central American policy. We didn't fight a war there, and it DOES NOT RESONATE.

2) Rush, however, well understood that despite the fact that it was 30 years ago, Vietnam---as he points out repeatedly---still is an utter obsession of the Left. They finally got us to lose a war, and they hate the military. (Don't forget that with Ortega, we lost the "battle" but won the war, and people forget minor skirmishes).

No, keeping the focus on Vietnam was BRILLIANT, especially since Kerry made that the proxy for how he would fight the "War on Terror." That's all people needed to know. Many people today simply don't even remember the deadly struggle with communism itself, but almost everyone knows someone who fought in Vietnam. The Swifties put the focus on Kerry in Vietnam, and Rush kept it there.

Rush has research staffers who'll see this and make sure it hits his desk. You'll hear reference to this soon. Any signs of life in Kerry, and Rush will drive this stake through his heart. Thanks for reminding us all about Harkin and Kerry's little jaunt to Nicaragua.

I agree. It would be like Hillary swinging deals with Bin Ladin to defeat the U.S.
Voters wouldn't approve of Kerry's aiding the enemy at all!

Back in the day, the press had people believing the Contras were the bad guys. That Ortega bastard got more face time on the networks than Reagan himself for a period of time.
Only those willing to do a little study into the subject (and I do mean a LITTLE, I was barely an adult) knew the truth about what was happening.
Your suggestion is a good one, but the way this campaign is shaping up, it may not be necessary to even trot this out.

Rush is talking to the choir. I suspect his research team gets most of their information here. One stop shopping. We cover every major issue, with humor I may add. I hate to admit this, but I rather doubt he is converting many undecides or democrats.

I think that the Ortega meetings AND the Vietnam/Paris meetings are the most important issues and will definatly resonate because they go to the core character of Kerry and demonstrate most clearly that he is a naive and gullible negotiator. Negotiating ability and how a president deals with other leaders is the most important aspect of the job. Enough with chattering gossip and hand wringing. I would rather see more concise inidictments like this which will ultimatly carry the day.

Yes the talk show hosts need to be talking about more subjects than they currently are. I am getting frustrated by the same topics day in and out. What happened to the Berger story? What about UN food for OIl scam? How about more into Kerry's record like this? More topics like this would probably fire up some fence sitters if they heard it. Instead we get the current events that the media is talking about.

Kerry can't deal with the facts especially because he can't address even one charge laid out in the Swiftees killer ads!

You can bet the CBS and DemocRAT 'smear the Swiftees' campaign will be kicked up to a whole new level now. Further diverting attention to his actions as a Senator supporting Daniel Ortega and Sandanistas!

FReepers are key in EXPOSING KERRY'S FRAUD!

I am all for piling on, and I am not overconfident, I remember well the result in 92 and 96.
But I can envision no scenario in which Effin gains the upper hand in this rundown to election. The democratic party has done nothing, absolutely nothing, right in the last month or two.
They are moving farther left in their desperation. Clinton at least knew he had to fake conservatism to win. (i.e. the promised middle class tax cut he reneged on immediately after taking office)

That's an excellent piece of writing and illuminates many serious points that need to receive more airtime. Still, I can't say I agree that talk radio has been hoodwinked. Assume most of the prominent hosts are united in their conviction that John Kerry must not be elected as Commander-in-Chief. They've focused on what they believe will resonate most strongly with swing voters. So far, that has been the story of the swiftboat veterans versus John Kerry. President Bush is up some 10-15 points in the polls in large part due to their efforts. It's hard to argue with success.

because they go to the core character of Kerry and demonstrate most clearly that he is a naive and gullible negotiator.

That is the SECOND most important point. The FIRST is that he will go above authority and break American LAW. He was not a President while doing these things. He was a citizen and later a Senator. He broke laws, of both the legal and the moral kind. You cannot trust John Kerry.

The American Spectator: The Bolshevik in Kerry
After Kerry met with Ortega, he returned to Washington waving a promise from Ortega that the Communist leader would moderate his policies. "We believe this is a wonderful opening for a peaceful settlement without having to militarize the region," Kerry said. "The real issue is: Is this administration going to overthrow the government of the Sandinistas no matter what they do? This opportunity puts this to the test."

WND: Kerry's Nicaragua vision
In April 1985, Kerry, along with Sen. Tom Harkin, ventured to Nicaragua to meet with President Daniel Ortega, a Marxist revolutionary who idolized Fidel Castro and received aid from the Soviet Union.
Kerry saw another Vietnam in the making because then-President Reagan was aiding freedom fighters in Nicaragua trying to overthrow Ortega's Sandinista regime.
