Ex-guardsman gave Bush records to Cleland

AUSTIN, Texas (AP) — A retired Texas National Guard officer mentioned as a source of disputed documents on President Bush's service in the Guard said he passed along information to a former senator working with Democratic presidential nominee Sen. John Kerry's campaign.

In an Aug. 21 e-mail to a list of Texas Democrats, Bill Burkett said after getting through "seven layers of bureaucratic kids" in the Kerry campaign, he talked with former Sen. Max Cleland, Georgia Democrat, about information that would counter criticism of Mr. Kerry's Vietnam War service.

I would not be surprised at all if Cleland turns out to be the 'unimpeachable' source.

The next question is will Burkett squeal like a stuck pig.

And will Cleland take one for the team.

With his visible hatred for Bush, I can connect that dot.

The Wash. Times article quotes Cleland as saying he told Burkett to contact the Kerry campaign.

We can only hope. Or maybe we can keep the pressure on and make it happen. This is big league hardball---think of all those who've spent millions on Kerry---They will try to cover-up til the end

Am I the only one who sees the parallel paths of conduct among Clinton, Kerry and Rather? Lie, stonewall, lie some more, divert attention, drop some bombs, lie again, stonewall more, dispose of reluctant teammates, lie and on and on. It got tight for Clinton, but he escaped defeat. Clinton is Kerry’s newest advisor and Rather’s idol. Both Rather and Kerry now have their underwear wrapped around their axles, so why not follow the lead of Clinton? Ah, but Clinton had the gift of felonious persuasion—Kerry and Rather do not. Ergo, Kerry and Rather fail, to the great applause of Hillary. It makes a wonderful opera!

Will the RNC have the courage to expose KERRY and tell the public he was the one to unleash these documents full of lies? I doubt it!

At this point there is no need for the RNC to do anything but watch as the RATmedia disembowels itself. Criminal grand juries should be convened soon as well. This party is going full blast without the RNC.
