By the way, you may be happy to note that the ACLU has filed a suit against all oncologists in the US for using profiling in their medical practice. It seems that oncologists are unfairly targeting cancer cells with chemotherapy and radiation. They are asking the courst to prohibit this practice because cancer cells have rights just like other all other cells, never mind that the cancer cells will kill.

Newbie, thanks for the best laugh I've had all day! You couldn't more wrong, and that's what makes it so funny.

Thanks, but essentially marmar was responding to the author, not me. I've done the same thing on occasion.

I doubt the ACLU will be interested in your idea.

Did you say sue oncologists? John Edwards might be interested if the VP thing doesn't work out.

You indicated that the MAJORITY of Arab-Americans are not muslims. Are you saying that they just sit by and allow CAIR to represent them without speaking out?

I like the part about blowing themselves up only in designated locations, then they can't hurt troops or children........

I know those Arab countries had a thriving Christian community, which was later destroyed by the Muslims. They were in Lebanon, Syria, and Iraq. Many were driven out or killed. As a result, many came to America or South America. I know many Arab Christians came to America after World War II. I know many Nazis were given shelter in Arab countries and many helped the Muslims in fighing and terrorism.

Well, to be fair the Japanese honor code led Japanese soldiers to think nothing about killing non-Japanese soldiers (even noncombatants) , and during the numerous coup attempts in Japan, killing each other was not exactly frowned upon.

nahhhhh - this is an excerpt from

http://www.straitstimes.com/commentary/story/0,4386,273593,00.html?

"Madrasahs can be key partners in war on terror"

By Muhammad Haniff Hassan and Yang Razali Kassim

" Muslim leaders in Indonesia have spoken up to condemn such terrorist acts, as have Muslims in Singapore. As the Singapore government publication, The Fight Against Terror - Singapore National Security Strategy, states: 'In order to deny militants any ideological space,

Muslims must speak out and denounce those who distort Islam. They have to engage the extremists, from the media to the mosque to the madrasah, and assert mainstream Islamic values.' However, even with the support of the madrasahs, winning 'hearts and minds' will be an uphill task as long as some of the root causes of global Muslim angst are not addressed.

Three years after Sept 11, one sore issue is still the uneven foreign policy of the United States in the Middle East, especially vis-a-vis Israel and Palestine, the occupation of Iraq and the continued American support for undemocratic regimes in the region. ......

Like their Muslim counterparts elsewhere in the region, Singapore Muslims share a deep sense of frustration with the injustices experienced across Muslim societies. As long as these issues are not resolved, the hearts and minds of Muslims may not be easily won."

===

my comments:

A.Can be partners= they are not now? duh

B."winning (moslem) 'hearts and minds' will be an uphill task" -duhhhhhhh = downhill fast to moslem terrorism

C. "the hearts and minds of Muslims may not be easily won."

=moslems may turn to terrorism =duuuuhhhhhhh duuhhhh

i dont know that we can 'win' hearts and minds, i just want to deny them to the enemy... because he seems to want them for himself.

if we allow something like abu ghraib to happen again, for example, we lose far more than we gain. our PR war needs to be better. we should fight on all fronts.

meanwhile theres a lot of people in the muslim world who arent really interested in killing us. really. and many of them dont even go to mosque. the entire islamic populace isnt extremist and doesnt support terror.

Ok let's assume for a moment you are correct.

I have yet to see much if any evidence of the this "moderate muslim majority" but let's say the usual figure given is correct. That only 10% or less of Muslims are extremist, I'll even go with 1% - run the numbers

Approx 1 billion Muslims in the world - 10% extremist would be 100,000,000!! Even a figure of 1% yields 10,000,000 that want nothing more to than to kill Americans and Jews in order to get to paradise. That is vastly more than there were Nazi's in Germany or Communists in the USSR. It doesn't matter how few they are if this "moderate majority" won't act against them, we must. The extremists hold all the power.

I suggest you review what is out there in the Arab/Muslim press, it can't possibly get any worse in terms of hate-filled propoganda.

A good site for that:
