Somebody please show me where Dan has said they are fake or forged or not real.

Exactly, and that omission is going to leave a mark.

And neither is saying "We can't stand behind the authenticity of the memos" the same as saying, "we now admit they are forgeries."

In effect, Rather is saying, "We still believe the memos are genuine (or accurate, or substantive, yada yada), even if we can't prove it, and so should you."
