September 21, 2004 -- SOME apology. It took just 235 words. Dan Rather, the most recognized talking parrot in TV news, single-handedly removed the "C" for "credibility" in the CBS logo — and turned the country's venerable broadcast propaganda machine forever into the network of BS. From deep within Dan's bunker in Black Rock, yesterday emerged a wan statement, evidently typed on Microsoft Word through the anchor/Democratic activist's clenched teeth.Dan purportedly was issuing a confession. We thought he'd admit he perpetrated a journalistic hoax — reporting a patently false story aimed at harming the president, in advance of a hotly contested election.
Instead, Dan pulled off a liar's hat trick: He was evasive, insincere and — in the spirit of such caught-in-the-act liars as Richard Nixon and Martha Stewart — Dan Rather blamed his career-killing misdeeds on others.
The BS began at "hello."

I don't accept it. This one will rock the Communists through Texas, CBS, the DNC and any other RAT with turd on his/her lips...
Of course, I ended up watching the entire 30 minute newscast, and they (the CBS reporter who's name I forgot) gave more time to John Kerry soundbytes than George Bush soundbytes in the very same Campaign 2004 report package. Of course I had to wait 14 minutes to hear Dan Rather's BS "apology".
Just stop watching CBS! This is helping their sunk ratings.:-(
I don't accept his apology, no matter how much "sugar-coating" he put on top of it. Dan Rather's behavior for the past 2 weeks confirms to just about anyone that he's a flaming liberal, even if he happend to disagree with me on that characterization. This 2 week episode is the epilogue of an entire career spent hellbent on furthering the flaming liberal cause.
Not to worry!! I can't remember the last time I watched CBS before yesterday! LOL
BTW...I never put that station on at all;haven't for years now.
Under the channel number of the local CBS affiliate, mine has read, for the last 13 years, "KGB".
Heck, I don't even watch Sunday NFL football on there. My favorite team is in the NFC, and the NFC is on FOX.

Unfortunately for me, all my channels are on channel 3, since I have satellite TV. I've taken the initative to put the CBS affiliate that I receive (WCBS) into the "parental lockout" and it doesn't appear in the channel guide and no one watching the satellite TV can't tune to it.

Anyone remember Sam Jaffe? I think that was his name. Wasn't he a Middle Eastern correspondent for CBS? He got caught working for the KGB. Literally. Someone in the spook community went to his network, and they fired him.
BWAHAHAHAHA!!! The BS "apology" was probably typed on the one 70s era IBM Selectric owned at C-BS and formatted to look like it came from a Microsoft Word word processing program.
I don't listen to anything Dan Rather says anymore, but according to FoxNews, Rather's apology was hedged. He basically stated that he still thinks the documents are real, but he can't prove it. And he defended his sources.
Sounds like a non-apology to me.
That sorry excuse of contrition was so scripted as to be less believable than the documents themselves. The liar and the witness to the lie deferring to yet another unamed source.
I just wish that football was shown on another channel. My Jetsies play on CBS. If it wasn't for that, I would no longer watch.
Football transcends politics. Just don't watch the commercials and don't tell any Nielson people you watched.

In other words, no one is responsible connected with me, least of all myself. These things just happen through some mysterious outside force, most likely Karl Rove and, by the way, this isn't really an apology, I just want them to call it that. I never have anything to apologize for, no matter what I do. I have no conscience. You see I am the classic definition of a sociopath. But I'm gooood.
Just like all other thugs and criminals...they're only sorry they got CAUGHT.

That's about all we can expect from the likes of Dan Rather. And he only did that to quieten his fellow liberal media brethren who were embarrassed like a hooker getting caught pulling tricks at the court house.
