MCAULIFFE: WILL GOP ANSWER IF THEY KNOW WHETHER STONE, OTHERS HAD INVOLVEMENT WITH CBS DOCUMENTS?
Washington, D.C. - In response to false Republican accusations regarding the CBS documents, Democratic National Committee Chairman Terry McAuliffe issued this statement:
In todays New York Post, Roger Stone, who became associated with political dirty tricks while working for Nixon, refused to deny that he was the source the CBS documents.
Will Ed Gillespie or the White House admit today what they know about Mr. Stones relationship with these forged documents? Will they unequivocally rule out Mr. Stones involvement? Or for that matter, others with a known history of dirty tricks, such as Karl Rove or Ralph Reed?

Your post made me think about a situation in business I was involved with about 8 years ago. The CEO of our only competitor at the time was so arrogant, so deceiving, so 'McAwful' that I literally used to pray at night that he wouldn't quit or get fired or die. He helped our small company, at that time, grow quite large at their expense.
Many times I have felt the same way about McAwful. He is NOT a plant. He is just SO blinded and misguided by power and position and so deep in an intricate web of lies, he literally cannot make a sound judgement.
I pray for President Bush's enemies to be revealed by truth, to be shamed by truth, and to fear the truth. This past week, I truly feel that God is answering our prayers and that He is beginning to take a hand in this demise...revealing the lies of His enemies in ways that no man could orchestrate.
The best is yet to come. October should be interesting...a roller coaster ride both ways!
Earth to DNC, Earth to DNC.
Clean the BirdS**t off your antenna, I say again, clean the Birds**t off your antenna.
This must be the Menendez brothers strategy.
Rats are masters of misdirection, they accuse others of doing what they do.
Classic conmen. Put the victim on the defensive when caught...
Amen, bro. And great tagline, too.
I question the timing of your refusal to deny.
They have gone insane. Simply stark, raving mad.
Stone's last foray into presidential politics was to provide a channel for funds and advice to thet well known Democrat, Al SLim Shady Sharpton.
I called Kinkos and Stone has an account with them. I also heard that he likes to attend livestock shows in Houston.
Isn't it odd. Someone feeds forged docs to a news outfit. And what do you hear. Outrage, ire, send in the lawyers, find out who hoodwinked us.
Nope, you hear sandbags being piled outside the door.
The hounds aren't barking and that tells you all you need to know about who is behind the story.
-- woof woof --- Dan is that you?
This is a joke right?
No, McAuliffe isn't stupid, but he thinks the American public is. I'm betting he's wrong, and that the election will prove it.
A woman in a hot air balloon realized she was lost. She lowered her altitude and spotted a man in a boat below. She shouted to him, "Excuse me, can you help me? I promised a friend I would meet him an hour ago, but I don't know where I am."
The man consulted his portable GPS and replied, "You're in a hot air balloon, approximately 30 feet above a ground elevation of 2346 feet above sea level. You are at 31 degrees, 14.97 minutes north latitude and 100 degrees, 49.09 minutes west longitude.
She rolled her eyes and said, "You must be a Republican."
"I am," replied the man. "How did you know?"
"Well," answered the balloonist, "everything you told me is technically correct, but I have no idea what to do with your information, and I'm still lost. Frankly, you've not been much help to me."
The man smiled and responded, "You must be a Democrat."
"I am," replied the balloonist. "How did you know?"
"Well," said the man, "you don't know where you are or where you're going. You've risen to where you are, due to a large quantity of hot air. You made a promise that you have no idea how to keep, and you expect me to solve your problem. You're in exactly the same position you were in before we met but, somehow, now it's my fault."
Doesn't Kerry, Rather, AlGore, Clinton (take your pick,) The DNC, have all of these?
Without the press being enablers, they would have to grow up.
Now why would Burkett take them if they were a set up from a Republican activist, then pass them off to Lockhart, then the DNC, and then to CBS? This is the dumbest spin I've ever heard. Even an idiot over at DUmmies should be able to see through this one!
No problem. "Nope. No involvement."
Your desciption of blind arrogance made me think of Haman in the book of Esther.
Man, I can't WAIT to hear Zell Miller's take on this!!

NEW YORK, Aug. 27, 2004
"I think the president's greatest challenge is getting beyond the hard-core right and the religious right and figuring out how to get back many of the suburban moderates who voted for compassionate conservatism people who are fiscally conservative but socially moderate," Stone said.
Moderation In Everything (Visible)
But since the platform is unlikely to reach out to voters at the center, the action at the convention podium must do so. In other words, says Stone, "the less we see of Pat Robertson and Jerry Falwell and their colleagues the better."
Bush Is Big
And indeed, the premier event of the convention is Mr. Bush's Thursday night address. Experts agree his speech is the week's crucial event. They disagree on the task he faces.
"I just think the president has to be himself," said Stone. "One of the reasons that voters like him, and one of the reasons that he connects with voters in the way John Kerry never connects with voters, is he is a plainspoken, regular guy."
Stone agrees that Sept. 11 is tricky territory.
"I think it is very risky but I have every confidence that the president will not do anything tasteless," he said. "There is a historical record: He was president of the United States when this happened; he did take decisive action."
But "at the juncture where you appear to be profiting from it, it is counterproductive."
It's the Clinton technique. Deny, deny, deny, and point the finger of blame to someone else.
Now .. with that said .. is there any doubt in anyone's mind who running this little scam ..??
Why, thank you! :o)
What did the White House do? Sent them back without comment.
As if to say --. Do as you will, and...
Let the chips fall where they may.
And now there are large steaming piles of chips everywhere :-)
[Anti-DNC, Anti-Kerry Sarcasm torpedo ARMED. FIRE!]
Someone should issue a press release calling on John Kerry
to renounce the beheadings of civilians in Iraq
Well, John Kerry's 1971 Winter Soldier testimony:
They raped, cut off heads, ...
And we know Kerry has already confessed to committing atrocities!
LOL, the infamous projecting of the Carville/Begala regime beings.
No, no, no. It's CBS that was standing by the memos before they weren't. It's the Kerry campaign who didn't know anything about the memos before they did. The DNC thought Rove forged them before they thought Stone did. Get it?
the best defense is a good offense .. and one thing about Terry McA, he IS offensive.
Boy, talk about 'dirty tricks' !!!
This is as funny as can be....these bozo democrats try to throw crap back in any direction to deflect attention from their complete stupidity....Rave on!
Man, are these people desperate or what? They have no idea how desperate this looks, and in case they didn't realize it, desperation is a very off-putting quality.
doesn't work so well. A previous president tried that. He sent in the U.S Plumbers. He resigned in disgrace.
The kid at my local Shell Station also refused to deny he was the source of the memos. He stonewalled me with "No comprendo."
FWIW, Nixon never ordered the break in of Ellsbergs shrinks office nor did he have any beforehand knowledge of anything that happened at the Watergate Building that night.
When he found out after the fact he, tried to cover for his friends who were involved. He was a strong believer in loyalty among friends. John Dean had to know this and must always know the personal contempt that Nixon held him in after his testimony.
The charge of Obstruction of Justice was the impeachable offense which he resigned under the threat of.
He resigned less than half way through a second term that he won in the largest landslide in modern American history.

"Leftists are crazed and violent people,
with the blood of millions on their hands.
Unfortunately, McAuliffe isn't stupid at all. I think he's appealing to the DUer-type. Kerry is tanking fast and I think they've seen the writing on the wall. What has energized the Kerry campaign, to the extent there was any energy, is hatred for Pres. Bush. MA is stoking that hatred to keep it alive. That's also what the planned vote recount is all about. Keep their base angry for the next four years. These are issues that they can write about and use to keep the fans flamed. If Hillary is going to run in 2008, she's going to need the anger of these people to even begin to think about success.
Good call! There is nothing new under the sun...as written in Ecclesiastes. We can find parallels throughout history, including in The Bible, that can be compared to today. Only arrogance would prevent us from seeing that.
Typical reponse form the DEMS
Another as they put it "Right Wing Conspiracy".
Coming soon.... Terry claims Roger Stone was AWOL, no wait that's been tried, uh, He's a racist, no , how about anti semite.. uh , uh, uh, Where's my "Brown Book"?
They need a more moderate voice if they ever hope to offer a choice that this America will accept.
They would do well to jettison the Ramsey Clark, Teddy Kennedy wing of the party. They would be wise to reconsider the baggage associated with Hillary Clinton.
Any really smart Democrat patriot candidate will be saying and meaning, "I support these troops in the field. I support their morale. I will not bad-mouth this commander-in-chief with troops in the field. I might do XYZ differently (and here's how), but America MUST be there because the enemy has attacked us on our own soil. In domestic policy I have A2X different than Pres. Bush, and here is how I'd do it."
That kind of calm, rational approach would win back all of the democrats.
They need Harry Truman and his legacy, but they kicked him out of the party and had him speak at the Republican Convention!
I hate giving them advice, but I'm certain that Ramsey Clarkers/Hanoi Johns will NEVER take it. They are a blight on this land. For the sake of America this branch of the democrat party must die. Maybe something viable can be rebuilt.
Democratic plan: Deny Deny Deny - Obfuscate - Yell - Scream - Deny Deny Deny - Obfuscate
I did not kill the Lindbergh baby.
Nice pick up.
How did they get the commercial with pictures of the documents out so fast?
This guy really is a scumbag. I would like to apologize to all the scumbags I know for insulting you by comparing you to Terry McAuliffe!
I am really disappointed that the media and not just the liberal media have ignored this fact. How in the world did Tall Tales Terry KNOW on September 9th that the docs were fakes? He obviously had at least KNOWLEDGE of the fake docs, maybe more! I have e-mailed Michelle Malkin and suggested this as a story line. Hopefully someone in the media will take a look at this question.
