What Would You Ask the Libertarian Party Candidate? (FReeper to Interview Him)
Libertarian Party

Posted on 09/21/2004 6:18:05 PM PDT by governsleastgovernsbest

On October 5th, for purposes of a local TV program I host, I'll have the opportunity to conduct a one-hour, one-on-one interview with Michael Badnarik, Libertarian Party presidential candidate, who is said to be polling as much as 3% and who could conceivably impact the race in a number of states.

I'd be interested to hear from my fellow FReepers. What do you know about Badnarik? What questions would you want to see asked?

Your thoughts?

My question would be, "So, what's your point?"

Why do you allow the "legalize marijauna" crowd to run your party?

I'd be interested in hearing, in detail, how he would propose to fight terror. Does he support fighting it on the offense (e.g, in Afghanistan, Iraq and elsewhere)? Does he believe it's possible to fight it only on the defense (without becoming a police state)? How? How would he deal with the tricky question of US citizen enemy combatants (where trying them in open court imperils our intelligence war, and holding them indefinitely imperils Constitutional rights)?

I look forward to hearing/reading about this interview -- good luck!

I'd ask him when is he going to get a job and move out of his mother's home.

Why do you want to maximize the chances of John Kerry being elected President? Is it your colossal ego or your abject stupidity?

Since that party (except for Neal Boortz) refuses to take the War on Terror seriously enough, I don't have any questions for him.

I just found this tidbit at Badnarik.org:

"Peaceful immigrants should be allowed to enter the US at conveniently located Customs and Immigration stations, subject only to brief vetting to ensure that they are not terrorists or criminals."

I'd ask Badnarik how only "brief vetting" can determine who's peaceful and who's not.

Excellent questions. Libertarians tend to focus on domestic issues, but with terror being the #1 issue for most Americans, it will be interesting to see what he has to say about this.

Does he mean that there should be unlimited immigration? Throw open our borders? Would you have a link to the quote?
