MILWAUKEE - An 11-year-old boy was charged Wednesday with raping a 76-year-old neighborhood woman in her home as three of his friends stood watch.

Police said that for a week before the attack, the boys had been "terrorizing" the woman in her house, repeatedly breaking in and taking cash and other items.
The woman, who lived alone, told police she was taking a sponge bath in the kitchen Friday when the 11-year-old walked in, demanded money and then ordered her to take off her clothes and go into the bedroom, according to court papers.
The boy's brother, a 13-year-old who was among the three other boys also charged, said he heard the woman say: "I'm just an old, half-crippled lady, I'm not going."
The woman said the 11-year-old put on a condom and tried to rape her, followed by a second boy.
The 11-year-old was charged in juvenile court with sexual assault and being a party to burglary and criminal trespassing. The other boys — ages 11, 12 and 13 — were charged with being a party to burglary and criminal trespassing.
In court Wednesday, the 11-year-old facing the less serious charges called out, "Hi, Mom" after spotting his adoptive mother.
"I'm very hurt because my son was raised as a good boy," she said outside court. She complained that police abused the boys to obtain confessions.

Sad to say but milwaukee's inner city has become a wasteland with little respect for other human beings. Group beatings (including the beating death of a mentally disabled man) to the point of death have become all too common there.
The overall murder rate has apparently gone down there, but the crimes have sunk to a new level of viciousness.

Actually, (knowing this was a rhetorical question), I tend to wonder if some people are pro-choice because we all know each other's vices and "evils" too well. The tactic of reminding people of human faults, evils, etc... is a tactic used by PETA and Greenpeace to those who do not know any better

Well, to be fair, she's his adoptive mother. The kid was quite possibly screwed up long before he was adopted. One of the network stations around here airs segments every week showcasing some kid in need of adoption, and more often than not, they're inner city kids taken out of their homes because of abuse, neglect, drug use on the part of their parents, etc. Not that that excuses the adoptive mother's failing to keep tabs on the kid, but still...
Wow...when I was 11 I barely knew what rape was...and even less about how it was actually done.

My grandmother lives by herself, but it's a very big house and the family lives downstairs and she's upstairs. Sometimes she does get a male relative to sleep upstairs with her. She also sleeps with a cutlass just in case. An aged woman should not be by herself.
not really. A male relative may not have been around for her. programs like meals on wheels and volunteer visits to homebound elderly exist b/c many sr citizens do not have anybody anymore for whatever reason.

Two friends of mine, a married couple, adopted a 10-year-old, one of the "inner-city kids taken out of their homes because of abuse, neglect," etc. At about age 17, the girl tried to kill my friend, her adoptive mother. Since then, the girl (now age 23) has spawned one illegitimate kid and recently aborted a second one.

Well yes, you are right about that...no doubt. Unfortunately, the idea of "community" and neighbors looking after one another doesn't exist in some neighborhoods. Many will ignore someone bing beaten by somebody else next door for fear that it is "none of their business", and when it is too late, people will say things like.."I don't understand why that happened?!?"

Yep -- and count me among them. Note that one of these boys was adopted. People really need to think twice about glorifying adoption as an answer to the problem of unwanted children. An awful lot of these children are genetically predisposed to antisocial behavior -- just like their biological parents, who couldn't be bothered to care for them (and also got damaged in utero by their drinking drugging junk-food-eating mothers). In addition, those who are not adopted as newborns have usually undergone some serious psychological trauma, the effects of which are often permanent.
This adoptive mother may well have raised this boy decently, but often that's just not enough. I just keep reading story after story of adopted boys murdering, maiming, or raping -- often with their adoptive parents or siblings as the victims. And the others, who apparently were not adopted, were probably more or less dumped by their parents and left to raise themselves. We need to face the reality that NOBODY wants these kids, and often with good reason.
I personally have no problem with abortion, but think we should be doing a lot more to prevent conceptions among the obviously-unfit-to-be-parents segment of the population. Frankly a lot of them don't get abortions, not because they think it's wrong, or because they want the child, but because they're too busy partying to get around to going to the abortion clinic (remember the prom girl who dumped her newborn in the trash and went back to dancing? and her parents, who claimed they had no idea that their slender-built daughter was 9 months pregnant?). That segment would include chronically unsupervised adolescents and teens, as well as adults who are on welfare or have lengthy rap sheets and substance abuse problems (which almost certainly descibes the biological parents of all the boys in this story). IUDs and Norplants ought to be passed out like Kleenex in inner city middle and high schools, as well as at welfare agencies, substance abuse treatment centers, and prisons. Sterilizations should be free and no-questions-asked for anyone over 18 who requests them.

No, this is one more example of the end results of the destruction of the family thanks to leftist ideals. The wish to be irresponsible and the entitlement mentality are part of the root causes of this sort of violence as well as abortion.
How are you going to discern who makes a good parent and who isn't?
