MoveOn: Bush to Blame For 'Extreme' Hurricane Season By Jimmy Moore Talon News September 23, 2004

SPARTANBURG, SC (Talon News) -- Attempting to take political advantage of the devastating hurricanes that have hit Florida and the southeastern section of the United States in the past few weeks, liberal political action group MoveOn.org is saying that President George W. Bush is to blame for "making extreme weather stronger."

In an e-mail to supporters, MoveOn.org rhetorically asks "why such extreme weather" has taken place with Hurricanes Charley, Frances, and Ivan causing billions of dollars in property damage and loss of life.

"Scientists agree that global warming makes sea levels rise and makes storms stronger, because temperature shifts disrupt the normal balance," MoveOn.org explained. "Warmer water makes more violent hurricanes."

The group added that insurance companies such as Swiss Re and Munich Re say "global warming is causing more losses."

Ridiculing President George W. Bush for "handing out emergency aid" in Florida while doing "nothing to reduce global warming," MoveOn.org contends that the president has "done a lot to make the problem worse" and has caused the massive hurricanes to form.

Asking its members to write letters to the editor of their local newspapers, MoveOn.org offers key "talking points, sample letters, and a tool to find your local paper."

MoveOn.org points the finger at Bush, saying that he has "helped the oil companies drill more, and the big polluters pollute more, at every opportunity" while he "has done nothing to stop global warming pollution, which is making extreme weather stronger."

The leftist group supporting Democratic presidential nominee John F. Kerry said Bush "walked away from the Kyoto Protocol, the only major international treaty to curb global warming pollution" and allegedly "broke a campaign pledge to limit emissions of CO2, the biggest global warming pollutant."

Blaming Bush for giving "tens of billions of dollars in subsidies to oil and coal industries that cause most of this pollution," MoveOn.org said the president has done "virtually nothing to make our use of these energy sources more efficient or to promote cleaner alternatives."

Again accusing Bush of being responsible for the hurricanes, MoveOn.org said the letter campaign will get the word out of how dangerous weather is connected to the occupant of the White House.

"By writing to our local papers, we can reach out to neighbors who are concerned about the extreme weather but don't yet know the connection to President Bush protecting the polluters," MoveOn.org argued.

The e-mail concluded, "And best of luck coping with the weather."

Such a typical liberal response.

Could it be due to natural cycles?
Could it be due to massive development along coastlines?
Could it be due to people building large homes on the beach?

Nah, it can't be. It's gotta be Bush's fault, somehow!

Hurricanes aren't stronger. There are just more people living where hurricanes have always hit. That is Bush's fault because before Jan 2001 nobody lived in coastal areas because they couldn't afford it.

Um, almost all of Florida is at sea level. If the sea level rose, the entire state would be underwater.

I will tell you why the extreme weather. If you will recall just prior to the last election, there was also a string of "natural" events that led up to the election. One of the most unusual was the sightings and attacks by sharks even up the east coast! What you see happening in the natural is a strong indication of a spiritual battle in the heavenlies! If there have been this many hurricanes, then one must wonder, what is going on in the heavenlies-what a spiritual war we are in! Keep praying and God will ultimately prevail.

Here in the midwest we have experienced a cool and pleasant summer, with electricity per household at a 20 year low.

I guess we can credit President Bush for this.

Seiously, after reading what the wackos at MoveOn.com just wrote, it is very important to keep these lunatics from getting near 1600 Pennsylvania Avenue.

They really belong in a rubber room.

Just like they said the sea-level would rise something like 6 inches in 700 more years.

However with GWB in office, it was much faster...

Stronger storms can only form if there is a strong temperature differential. Since "global warming" "climate change" is primarily supposed to happen at the poles, the temperature differential would be diminished, not exacerbated. You might get more storms, since warmer water provides more "fuel" for them (or at least isn't depleted as much by each storm), but not stronger ones.

If these dimwits would listen to historians and weather experts...they'd find out that there is a repeat history involved here. The cycle actually runs every 30 years in the caribbeaan and Atlantic. We will see stormy weather for the next ten years as a minimum. We know this from previous cycles. Does the environmental crowd ever look at history?

In other news, John Kerry has blamed President George W. Bush for the recent rise in lactose intolerance across the country, pointing to his refusal to authorize a $19 trillion government program to supply all women, children, minorities, illegal aliens, and senior citizens with the new Heinz No-Milk Milk.

Said Kerry: "I drank No-Milk Milk before I didn't drink it, in Vietnam, and where I was once lactose intolerant, now I am lactose intolerant. This is all Bush's fault. I was in Vietnam."

I read this and thought that the "tool" they were referring to was some person from Moveon.org that would help you find the paper!

I was going to post this as its own thread, but it fits here!!!

Sept. 16, 2004 — The contiguous United States experienced its 16th coolest summer (June-August) on record and seventh coolest August, according to scientists at NOAA Climatic Data Center in Asheville, N.C. While much of the West, including Alaska, remained warmer than average, the majority of the nation had a cool summer, with Minnesota having its coldest August on record. Link to NOAA Story

More proof that Moveon is full of hot air!

In my experience, the first major event that was reported primarily on the internet rather than the mainstream media was the comet crash on Jupiter. My theory as to why the MSM weren't very interested was because they couldn't think of any way to blame it on 12 years of Reagan/Bush.

300 miles long, 100 miles wide, and 3 feet deep.

Walt Disney World asserts that if Big Thunder Mountain (197 feet tall) were an actual mountain, it would be the highest elevation in all of Florida. The second highest is Splash mountain at 180 feet.

The highest elevation in Florida is 347 feet, near the Georgia border.

"Scientists agree that global warming makes sea levels rise and makes storms stronger..."
There are no scientists who agree with that. There are some alleged scientists, but they're only out to scare people in order to scare up fat research grants for themselves. Period. Climate is natural. The sealevel hasn't risen. The oceans aren't warming at depth. Hurricanes aren't stronger than they used to be. More people live in the path of the hurricane, because there are more people around, but that isn't the fault of the President.
George W. Bush will be reelected by a margin of at least ten per cent
