Reporter question to Kerry at today's press conference. Evidence of a hate Bush media

Posted on 09/23/2004 11:15:00 AM PDT by 1Old Pro

QUESTION: Prime Minister Allawi told Congress today that democracy was taking hold in Iraq and that the terrorists there were on the defensive. Is he living in the same fantasy land as the president?

The mainstream media and press is no longer bias. They have chosen to be the cheerleaders for Kerry. This question does not surprise me one bit. Like I said in the past. You have to be deaf, blind, or stupid to not believe the media and press are pulling for Kerry.

THIS THREAD IS OFF TRACK. THEY WERE TRYING TO USE KERRY'S OWN WORDS TO TRAP HIM INTO A FLIP FLOP. INSTEAD, HE CALLED THE PRIME MINISTER OF IRAQ A LIAR.

Overall, it was a great question, and an even better answer (for Bush voters, that is)

This almost reads like a parody of a biased media. Damn.

Yup... 'The Onion' couldn't have done a better job.

"But the fact is that the CIA estimates, the reporting, the ground operations and the troops all tell a different story."

Who are these troops? Did Kerry meet them having dinner in Manhattan, or Nantucket?

FWIW, the "fantasy land" term came first from Kerry ...

Sep 16, 2004 6:35 pm US/Central (CBS) President Bush is "living in a fantasy world of spin," failing to tell U.S. troops or the American people the truth about the situation in Iraq, Democratic challenger John Kerry told National Guard veterans Thursday.

It was a sarcastic slap at Kerry because he said at an interview yesterday that Bush was living in a fantasyland.

Are you serious? This was an actual question asked by a reporter? It's like they gave Kerry his answer within the question... This almost reads like a parody of a biased media.

I agree. Some posters say the reporter was really poking fun at Kerry.

Regardless of the reporters intent, this question/comment is totally inappropriate and non-professional.

Yesterday(?) Kerry accused Bush of being in a fantasy land about Iraq. Today the Iraqi PM basically calls JF'nK part of the problem, and says that things are going pretty well in most of Iraq.

Thus, "Do you think Alawi is living in the same fantasy land...?"

The question makes Kerry look like an ass (which he is).

Then I think the reporter should have referenced his question by saying...."as you said yesterday".

Kerry's "fantasy world" comment was dumb. The reporter knows it, just like we know it. The reporter is inviting Kerry to say more dumb stuff by inviting Kerry to say that other world leaders are also in a "fantasy world."

Kerry took the bait by slamming on the Iraqi prime minister -- not a smart more for Kerry at all.

I'd tell him/her/it to stick to their day job and leave
the comedy to Kerry.

Please explain, perhaps I'm slow.

The question could be easily rephrased:

Senator Kerry, you said Bush was "living in a Fantasy World" when he gave an optimistic appraisal of the Iraq situation. Today, Prime Minister Allawi gave a speech to congress where he echoed President Bush's views. Are you implying that the Prime Minister is deluded or simply lying?

Kerry reminds me a high school debater who is assigned to "debate" a particular position and no matter what President Bush says or does, Kerry feels compelled to provide the high school debate rebuttal.

WOW, I'm shocked that a reporter would do this without making reference to the remark.

My Question to the Kerry Campaign:

Sir, you have said repeatedly that the President is living in another universe concerning Iraq and that he is lying to the American People. My question is, who in you campaign is on the ground in Iraq that is giving you up to the minute reports that would be better than the information that Iraq's on Prime Minister would have?

I agree with you, I took the reporter's comments as a slam against Kerry, sarcasm if you will.

I think it is the media's job to point out previous statements by the candidate and ask them to explain them in light of current events.
