Iraqi PM Allawi Says Thanks to America - Kerry Says It's A Hoax - This Is Getting Pathetic
SouthernOregonNews.com ^ | September 23, 2004 | Dennis M. Becklin

Posted on 09/23/2004 12:48:59 PM PDT by Cincinatus' Wife

Medford, Oregon - Presidential contender John Kerry has assailed Iraq's interim Prime Minister Ayad Allawi's speech thanking America for the sacrifices needed to offer his country an opportunity for freedom and a democratic form of government. John Kerry seems to be losing his cool.

After a week of the nastiest charges and name-calling coming from Kerry and Clinton era henchmen now employed by his campaign, perhaps nothing is too low for the Kerry campaign. Attacking the PM of Iraq as a pawn of the Bush campaign for President is just over the top...way over the top.

Then there's your continued attacks on the morale of America's armed forces, Mr. Kerry. You are beginning to sound an awful lot like the anti-war John Kerry Vietnam War veteran who contributed to the demoralization of America's military in the 1970's while they were still fighting that war.

Mr. Kerry, we're completely inundated with the story of your Vietnam War heroism. We're completely engulfed by charges and counter-charges about your meetings with the Viet Cong and North Vietnamese representatives in Paris while the Vietnam War was still red-hot and killing lots of American troops. We're totally overrun by the regurgitation of your anti-war rhetoric from 1971.

But, sir, we the American people would like to hear something out of your mouth and out of the mouths of your surrogates that isn't the same kind of anti-war, anti-victory garbage that you and your left-wing buddies have been using to attack America and its President.

Sir, we'd like to respectfully suggest that you and your attack dogs stop the personal attacks on our President. If you have any hope of being the next resident of the White House, you had better get yourself together and make a case for your candidacy.

Do you have any original ideas for improving the security of the American people and the United States of America? Do you have any original ideas for improving the lives of Americans? Do you have any original ideas for promoting the development of democracies and the elimination of tyrannical governments around our dangerous world?

You could probably discern from the tone of this editorial that I'm not planning to vote for you in November. However, I'm starting to get damned mad about the abusive language you and your campaign are hurling at President Bush and his administration.

I'm also damned mad about your stupendously ignorant comments about Iraqi PM Allawi's speech to a joint session of the US Congress today. PM Allawi came here to thank our nation for the great sacrifices our nation has made to secure freedom and democracy for his people. He's dodged a few assassination attempts on his life while carrying on the democratic work of the new Iraqi government that the United States has allowed to materialize from the ashes of a previously brutal dictatorship.

PM Allawi came to America to give thanks...not to listen to the Carville/Begala style abusive comments now emanating from your campaign. He didn't come here with a Bush for President badge on his chest either, nor is he likely to take home any special ribbons for his courageous service to his country.

The Iraqi PM hasn't won a purple heart or a silver star for his efforts, but he probably deserves them just as much as you did. He and many other brave participants in the newly established democratic government of Iraq are equally deserving of commendations...not your nasty insinuations. As a war hero, surely you understand the value of their irreplaceable personal sacrifices for democracy. You, of all people, should have an appreciation for the need to commend them, not attack them.

Get back to a campaign on the issues Mr. Kerry. American voters know you're way out there to the left of most of us concerning American security and the US Military...but why not try to convince us that you really have a positive agenda for the nation?

We're waiting for something other than continued personal attacks on our President and proponents of democracy like Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi.

Kerry sees his job as the candidate to complain non-stop. For him it is great fun. He never had an original idea anyway so why should he start now, 40 days from the most important day of his life?

Kerry is a metrosexual flip flopper of massive proportions.

In 1997 he told the host of Crossfire that it would show great leadership if Clinton would take care of the Iraq problem REGARDLESS OF WHAT THE UN SAID.

In 1998 he was advocated American boots on the ground to force regime change.

Of course, that was then. This is now. And he's only changed position about 15 times in the interim.

So John Kerry is the man who wishes to restore the standing of the United States in the world and to forge new relationships and coalitions so that we can fight a more sensitive war in Iraq.

Then he goes out a trashes the man who leads the very country in question. Until Iraq has elections, he is the Head of State, and it is his permission that Mr. Kerry would have to seek in order to walk, spit, or chew gum within Iraq.

Kerry isn't exactly off to a good start in the sensitivity game, is he?

Kerry is such a disaster that it makes me wonder. If I put on my tinfoil hat I might think Kerry was a setup candidate to help Bush win. "Karl, get me the biggest dope you can so I can win with no problem!" "No problem Mr. President, we have just the guy, Ted Kennedy set it up for us sir."

From what I've seen lately, this is unlikely. The Kerry campaign seems to have decided that their only hope is to go full-on negative and hope that news from Iraq drags Bush down. Problem is that Kerry himself is handling the negative, which simply serves to further alienate swing voters.

Not sure what training (if any) in strategy he received as a Naval officer, but he certainly doesn't seem to have a grasp of some fundamentals.

***It's becoming increasingly obvious even to some, only some, mind you, Dems thats Kerry is as anti-American as they come. The rest of us rational people have studied his rhetoric and actions over the past three decades and have seen the evil that he is.***

----------------------------------------------------------------------

He learned it at his daddy's knee:

Kerry's World: Father Knows Best***By the time John Kerry's father, Richard, published his only book, The Star-Spangled Mirror, in 1990, he should have been a mellow man. Nearly 30 years had passed since his retirement from the Foreign Service, where he'd filled mid-level posts in Washington, Berlin, and Oslo. His central issue, the cold war, had followed him into retirement with the crumbling of the Berlin Wall and rise of glasnost in Russia. When the 75-year-old Kerry wasn't working on his book, he could be found building model ships and sailing off Cape Cod. If he had any reasons for professional bitterness, they should have long since faded.

None of these facts, however, becalmed him. His book has a young man's brash, polemical tone. The Star-Spangled Mirror is a critique of moralism in America's foreign policy -- and, more than that, it is a critique of America's national character.

"Americans," he writes, "are inclined to see the world and foreign affairs in black and white." They celebrate their own form of government and denigrate all others, making them guilty of what he calls "ethnocentric accommodation -- everyone ought to be like us." As a result, America has committed the "fatal error" of "propagating democracy" and fallen prey to "the siren's song of promoting human rights," falsely assuming that our values and institutions are a good fit in the Third World. And, just as Americans exaggerate their own goodness, they exaggerate their enemies' badness. The Soviet Union wasn't nearly as imperialistic as American politicians warned, Kerry argues. "Seeing the Soviet Union as the aggressor in every instance, and the U.S. as only reacting defensively, relieves an American observer from the need to see any parallel between our use of military power in distant parts of the world, and the Soviet use of military power outside the Soviet Union," he writes. He further claims that "Third world Marxist movements were autonomous national movements" -- outside Moscow's orbit. The book culminates in a plea for a hardheaded, realist foreign policy that removes any pretense of U.S. moral superiority. ...........***

There is not other reason to prove that Kerry is VERY BAD for the country, he is destroying the troop morale every time he opens his mouth.

***"I think the prime minister is, obviously, contradicting his own statement of a few days ago, where he said the terrorists are pouring into the country. The prime minister and the president are here, obviously to put their best face on the policy, but the fact is that the CIA estimates, the reporting, the ground operations and the troops all tell a different story."_ Sen. That statement in response to:

PRIME MINISTER ALLAWI: "Thank you, Mr. President. It's very important for the people of the world really to know that we are winning, we are making progress in Iraq. We are defeating terrorists. Najaf, Samarra, Mosul, Basra are all live examples that a lot of progress have been made. Unfortunately, the media have not been covering these significant gains in Iraq. And this is all because of the determination of the Iraqi people. The light that they are seeing at the end will -- democracy will prevail, the rule of law will prevail. The issues and culture of human rights will prevail. And the friendship with the United States and with the civilized nations are comfortable there.

So, really, the winning, it's unfortunate, is not being portrayed in the media. This is very unfortunate. I always say that we are welcoming any media who wants to come to Iraq and see for themselves the grounds we are covering and the winning we are doing in Iraq. "

I had to laugh when I heard sKerry say that President Bush was living in a fantasy world. I immediately thought of sKerry's excellent Cambodia adventure. It must really suck to be 60 years old and running for president of the U.S. and realize the defining moment of your life was just a false memory, a fantasy.

re: "revert to form after 32 years"

I remember my Mom and Dad telling me often that when the chips are down people revert to their basic nature. When a mine exploded under the Swift boat next to his, Kerry's first response was to gun it, and get out of the area. He only returned because he realized that he was all alone, down the river, and everybody else was back working to save the damaged boat and recover its crew. His explanation now is that he left the area to give the other boats room to work. He is under the gun now and I would consider the chips to be down from his view, and sure enough he's reverting to this basic nature of being a person who can simply not be trusted when the fat's in the fire!

Let mew tell you about these type of egomaniac thinkers.
Look at the background- money (marrying for it) is of
prime imporance to Kerry and those who think like him.
Their main problem is that they think-TERRORISM IS JUST
A TRANSITORY THING LIKE A HURICANE OR EARTHQUAKE..Just
ride it out and it'll go away...that is the difference in
a nutshell .those who don't support the action to
eliminate terrorism the old fashioned way (kill them),
they would rather live with it..we want to live withut it..
