With some most excellent help from FReepers, I composed (plagiarized may be more like it!) the following letter to to CBS Affiliate, KPIX, San Francisco...
Dan Rather and CBS News President Andrew Heyward issued an apology Monday saying "We made a mistake in judgment, and for that I am sorry. It was an error that was made, however, in good faith and in the spirit of trying to carry on a CBS News tradition of investigative reporting without fear or favoritism It was a mistake CBS News deeply regrets. Also, personally and directly, I am sorry."Im sorry, but Rather's "apology" smacks of condescension and smarmy faux remorse. He slanders with glee and he's only sorry he got caught. He definitely is not sorry if he still maintains that the documents are authentic, which he was saying as last as last night. He's only sorry that CBS News chose to quit backing his fantasy and hes only sorry that the forged memos are not authentic.
I have lost all confidence in CBS news and have quit watching it entirely. My friends and I are continuing our boycott of all KPIX CBS5 sponsors until CBS and Rather apologize for falsely smearing our President. I hope theres a special place in Hell reserved for members of the Fourth Estate that conspire with the Democrats to steal a national election.
And the response received this evening...
Thank you for writing to CBS 5. As you are probably aware, there is an independent review panel of this matter and the findings will be made public. Your comment has also been forwarded to the network at CBS News.Akilah Monifa

I sent an email to KPIX, got the exact same form letter response back.
If they have a form response, odds are pretty good they are getting a lot of viewer response.
How many people do you suppose are named Akilah Monifa and of those, how many live in the SFO area? Hint: Google.
Affiliates will be using that as a crutch 'til the the last wheel falls off the wagon.
Call your local affiliate -- keep it short and sweet. They'll hear you.
I Googled her when I got my first response from her. She's a real piece of work, huh? There's certainly no mystery about how the leftist bias gets into the MSM when you hire people like Monifa.
I suspect it's not the content of the critical letters that count, it's the number of those letters. I seriously doubt they are getting too many letters telling them "great job on the forged docs, Dan."
Independent review? You bet there is. It's called "capitalism."
Holy cow. I am speechless.
Akilah Monifa, lesbian of color, is a regular contributor to AlterNet on issues of race and social justice and happens to be Director of Communications for this CBS affiliate.
Her activities on News Watch are a real hoot! ...
Ms. Monifa is on the Advisory Council of News Watch, a project of the Center for Integration and Improvement of Journalism of the San Francisco State University Journalism Department. News Watch is funded by a grant from The Ford Foundation. The News Watch mission is:
1. to promote healthy candid dialogue among journalists, journalism students and journalism educators regarding coverage of people, issues and communities which have been the victim of biased reporting or ignored by the news media. [Could this possibly mean Conservatives, SBVT, VVT?]
2. to examine both good and bad coverage in ways that help us learn lessons [I'm sure they will be examining the CBS debacle very closey]
3. to seek out or develop resources which will help all journalists do a better job at covering our complex, diverse world. [Such as the multitude of pajama-clad researchers the world over that are now holding all those MSM feet to the fire. Or maybe they will purchase all the used 1972 IBM Selectric typewriters as a "resource to help journalists do a better job" of forging documents]
With ultra left-wing people and organizations such as these pursuing this agenda, it's no wonder the MSM is toast.
