Gitmo Translator Gets Bad-Conduct Discharge

TRAVIS AIR FORCE BASE, Calif. — A Muslim interpreter convicted of mishandling classified documents from the terrorist detention center at Guantanamo Bay was given a bad-conduct discharge Thursday — but won't have to spend more time behind bars. A military judge announced the sentence after a hearing in which Senior Airman Ahmad Al Halabi , 25, made an impassioned plea for leniency. He told the judge keeping the documents was a mistake and said he would never do anything to hurt the Air Force or the United States. There was no immediate reaction from Al Halabi or military prosecutors to the decision by Air Force Col. Barbara Brand. The former supply clerk pleaded guilty Wednesday to wrongfully taking pictures, lying about it and mishandling classified information. In exchange for Al Halabi's plea, the military dropped an attempted espionage charge. It marked the third such case against accused spies at Guantanamo Bay to fall apart this year. "I have dedicated my life to the United States, my country," the 25-year-old native Syrian told the judge earlier in the day. "I never, ever would do anything to hurt the Air Force, my country, my family."

"The former supply clerk pleaded guilty Wednesday to wrongfully taking pictures, lying about it and mishandling classified information."

Other than that, exemplary conduct.

Frickin' load of crap. If he did something bad enough to get the Big Chicken Dinner, he did something bad enough to land in jail. Pisses me off. The military is showing a real disturbing reluctance to prosecute muslims who commit crimes in the military, especially when it comes to spying and/or mishandling classified information.

That tells me that if they prosecute the guy, then they have to admit in court that they violated their own rules and regulations by granting a security clearance to somebody who has no business getting one due to their questionable national origin, contacts, and activities.

I expect the military to reform this situation at the same pace that the FBI is prosecuting their Arabic language translators that are spying for the enemy and purposely losing important intelligence.

Oh, but, come now. Are those things really as bad as putting panties on prisoners heads? I thought we'd be further out of bizarro world when clinton was gone than this.

Subhuman Muslim filth LIE routinely, as part of the Koran-jihad proceedure: taqiyya.

Give the POS a military tribunal; convict, sentence and head-shoot the pigshit Islamic scum.

Feed him PORK!

Okay, another FBI resource. You think this guy's going to be walking around without always having to look over his shoulder? Maybe he'll become an imman in some local mosque we can infiltrate.

Their was a time when a BCD or a DD meant BRIG TIME and a lifetime of menial jobs and societal disgrace today it means very little to society in general, unless you want to be a liberal Democrat, in which case it is a pre-requisite!!!

We will stay PC even if it kills us in the end! I bet OBL and his killers get a big laugh out of this!

At the very least, his bad conduct discharge will plague him for the rest of whatever career he intends to have.

His DD214 will keep him from having any good jobs, unless he works for himself. To some degree, justice.
