September 25, 2004 -- Ralph Peters' column was a correct and stinging indictment of John Kerry's incendiary rhetoric ("Dead Soldiers," Opinion, Sept. 23).In 1941, America faced its enemies with resolve and sacrifice. It was not the least bit pleasant but most knew what was at stake. Today, resolve and sacrifice are replaced with speculation, second-guessing and the pervasive aversion to risk.
Has anyone paused to think how this is viewed by terrorists and their supporting regimes? Using words like "quagmire," "failure" and "illegal" will not give them pause, only confidence.

Peters is correct. Kerry has a history of enabling and encouraging the worst of the worst and bailing out when the going becomes difficult.
Terrorism has been running rampant for decades and President Bush intends to stop it.

From the safety of these shores, John Kerry says that Iraqi Prime Minister Ayad Allawi is all wrong about the progress in Iraq. Instead of praising the prime minister for having the courage to forge ahead, Kerry has the audacity to tell Allawi, who is on the front lines, that his perception of things in Iraq is all wrong.
I guess Allawi isn't one of the foreign leaders who wants Kerry to win in November. John Gacinski
