JEB FIGHTS BACK Mon Sep 27 2004 20:33:05 ET

Florida Gov. Jeb Bush's office yesterday said charges by former President Jimmy Carter that the state is "likely" to have a repetition of the voting problems that plagued the 2000 election are politically motivated by Democrats intent on undermining voter confidence in the state.

The WASHINGTON TIMES's Joe Curl will report on Tuesday: State officials also said the former president made no attempt to get up-to-date information before writing an opinion piece and never tried to contact the governor's office or that of Secretary of State Glenda Hood.

"This is a shockingly partisan opinion piece and it's unfortunate that a person such as the former president is being used by the Democratic Party for low-level political rhetoric," said Jacob DiPietre, press secretary for Gov. Jeb Bush.

Jimmy Carter has not learned from his mistakes. Does he understand why he was swept out of the WH after one term? People couldn't wait to get him out.

The Carter administration seemed like a long nightmare--and was!

Jeb has done everything possible for Terri Schaivo and arguably too much. I don't get the comment.

Fifteen years ago a good friend told me he had figured liberals out. He used to think they were well-meaning, but misguided. Experience had convinced him, however, that there was nothing well-meaning about them. It took me awhile, but I've come to understand why he said that.

Jimmy Carter is an idiot and an evil doer who is trying to undermine confidence of the people in democracy and to bring disrepute upon the government.

Jimmy has had honesty on the back burner for years now. He is just as believable has Dan Blather.

It's not worthwhile, unless there's a camera filming.

That would be impossible. Remember, he is a DemoRat. Anti-americanism is in their DNA. He cannot help himself.

I will never forget that he spent 444 days begging and kissing the feet of terrorist and never got the hostages back. Ronald Reagan called the terrorists in Teheran "International Outlaws and vowed to use all means necessary to get our envoys freed." They were freed 20 minutes after his inauguration. I guess they did not want to test the resolve of the "Cowboy."

Jimmy Carter has done more economic damage to the U.S. than the 9/11 attack.

He may be the root cause of 9/11.
