"Between the Sheets" is the name of the album, by the way.

How 'bout if you record yourself singing a Chaka Khan song and send it to me? :)

It's too bad, really. Back in the 70's, she could melt a cheese sandwich from across the room. That was one hot babe!

I missed the performance, but it's difficult for me to imagine one of the greatest singers on the planet singing as poorly as you describe. As for how she looked, that doesn't really matter to me.

" I am a professional R&B singer "

Get out!

OK, what's the only song to be a Top Ten hit in the 50s, 60s and 70s?

The victim died at a nearby hospital.

If the nearby hospital was King Drew, that about shasplains it.

That's the tune I was trying to think of! "Through the Fire"! Awesome tune.

Sounds like she had a rough go of it that night. She probably should have bailed on that one, if she felt that bad. And you're right - she's overweight, but, so what?

The only person I've ever thought was really obese and pushing jabba the hutt status was Ruben Studdard at the last Idol contest. Wow. I got scared literally.

LOS ANGELES (Reuters) - The 25-year-old son of Grammy-winning R & B singer Chaka Khan has been arrested for murder after shooting another man while they fought over a gun, Los Angeles police said on Monday.

Damien Patrick Holland was taken into custody after the shooting, which took place shortly before midnight on Friday at an apartment in south Los Angeles, Sgt. Catherine Plows said.

"During a fight involving the victim and the suspect, a struggle for control of a gun resulted in it discharging," Plows said in a written statement. "The bullet struck the victim, who was transported to a local hospital where he died as a result of his injury."

Police said the victim was 17 but did not identify him and declined to comment further on the case pending an investigation.

The television program "Celebrity Justice," which provided first word of the arrest, said the shooting took place at the apartment complex where Holland lived and that the weapon was a high-powered rifle apparently found on the roof of a nearby building. It added that bail was set for $1 million and that Holland's father was long divorced from Khan.

Khan, born Yvette Marie Stevens, is best known for her hits "I Feel for You" and "I'm Every Woman."

"Ain't Nobody"

If I hear that song, I have to test the upper limits of my amplifier, my speakers and my ears.
About as good a rocker as has ever been recorded.

That's her best.
I like "Through the Fire" too.

I have to agree. Back in the '70's she was one of the curviest women alive.
