Lt. Bush has not been observed at this point unit during the period of report. A civilian occupation made it necessary for him to move to Montgomery, Alabama. He cleared this base on 15 May 1972 and has been performing equivalent training in a non flying status with the 187 Tac Recon Gp. Dannelly ANG Base, Alabama.

No matter how many times President Bush’s Guard service is proved to be honorable the MSM will not report it correctly.

Great report for President Bush. Being a pilot, I can appreciate the high rating given the President. Flying a fighter jet is an accomplishment that many students fail. Flying is no easy task. We should be proud of his accomplishments. We have a REAL President.

Thankfully we have the Internet in general, but more importantly we have Free Republic. The MSM and its coverage of Bush's service can be summed up by Dan Blather & CBS by using a crackpot like Bill Burkett, a lying partisan Kerry campaign official Ben Barnes, and forged documents put together by a noted liberal hack like Mary Mabes as part of a 5 year obsession.

It really cuts into the derogatory portrayal of Bush by Democrats and the Liberal Media.

Note in the second report that the reporting senior indicates that the future President will be leaving to take a job on the staff of a Senatorial candidate ...

... so obviously everyone knew he was moving into a non-flying position outside of Texas.

And it is safe to say that the report would not have been as complimentary if they were ticked off at him for leaving!!

"has been performing equivalent training in a non flying status with the 187 Tac Recon Gp. Dannelly ANG Base, Alabama"

WHOOOOO HOOOOOO!! There is the statement I have been looking for "a non flying status .. Alabama". The reason for the non flying status was not because he didn't take the physical exam (and was disqualified), it was because the AF had phased out the F-102 .. and there weren't any aircraft in Alabama.

This is why THE PRESIDENT WAS NOT REQUIRED TO TAKE A PHYSICAL - HE WASN'T FLYING!!

Take that! you mindless robot democrats who keep saying our President REFUSED A DIRECT ORDER.

But .. here's an even more interesting piece of information .. on page 75 of "Unfit for Command", it seems that a Captain Plumly WROTE A REPORT to Admiral Hoffman, stating: "Kerry simply would NOT obey orders". Does anybody find that information as interesting as I do ..??

Former Officers can probably verify this, but from my limited understanding of military (specifically Air Force) protocol, this is the money line.

Lt. Bush has outstanding growth potential and should be promoted well ahead of his contemporaries.

All the other crap is superfluous until this line. The recommendation for promotion is necessary not to end a career. Promotion ahead of his contemporaries is above and beyond acceptable.

Absolutely...one wonders why the media...having access to these documents...wouldn't have bothered noting it.

....Also note the second eval doesn't contain this language, but was at the end of his flying and ANG career.

When a USAF OER says that, bank on it.

I do, but I'm still puzzled over Kerry's unauthorized Silver Star given the Navy didn't award it will combat 'V' and Secretary of the Navy Lehman says he didn't author, authorize, or sign the third citation. It looks like someone was trying to "paper over" it. Despite these public statements, the Navy has turned down Judicial Watch's call for an investigation by the Navy, which said it wouldn't be "productive."

As to the first Purple Heart, Kerry's commander is quoted in Unfit to Command stating that Kerry came into his office with a band aid requesting a Purple Heart and he told him to literally get out. Then Kerry writes a letter to someone in Saigon and somehow gets a Purple Heart three months after the incident. The media won't investigate. We don't know who he wrote in Saigon. Like his commander said - it is a complete mystery.

What's your take on the second one? Seems pretty neutral, I'd guess they knew he wasn't a career officer by that point, and therefore was passed over. Either that, or it was a good second year eval.

I disagree...the second one seems pretty positive and there seems to be notable praise in both.

They all do, it's almost like a form letter. You could have your career killed by a sickeningly sweet eval if it lacks the recomendation for promotion.

I know the site is unavailable for the time being, but give it about another 30 minutes and it should be back up. These documents weren't in letter form. I just took the comments, but you can view the document in (.jpg) form.

I figure that combat pilots were coming back from Vietnam, the 102 was obsolete, and everyone knew that the flying slots were going to go to active duty guys with combat experience.

The investigations are separate for the Silver Star and the Purple Hearts. I guess they have closed the Purple Heart investigations, however, Lehman (who is purported to have signed the Silver Star citation) has referred the matter to the Dept of the Navy. That investigation is still in progress.

From what little I've read over the years this is the equivalent of getting an A+ on your report card.
