Below you will find links to articles about the LIVE STRONG bracelet, which isn't really on most adults' radar screens but should be.
You see, the Live Strong bracelet, my teenage daughter informs me, is ALL the craze among the youth of America and is supposed to benefit cancer survivors. And guess what? John Kerry wears one prominently, displayed very yellowly on his immaculately coiffed wrist!!! While it's escaped many of us, it should probably be pointed out how COOL he is to younger voters -- or how cool he's trying to be. While it's admirable to support Lance Armstrong's cause, it also seems somewhat exploitative to me (the widow of a cancer victim). I guess I'm feeling a certain affinity for the 9-11 widows who're resentful of GWB using the images of 9-11, though I'm getting much, much less publicity. As the daughter of a Vietnam KIA, I guess I'm doubly resentful of Kerry exploiting all my hurts!
These links were found on Google when "Live Strong Bracelet" and "John Kerry" were put into the search engine.

Beautiful letter! I have thought the same thing. I have been wearing a Livestrong bracelet for a couple months but every time I see Kerry with his I almost want to take mine off. He's a fraud in this just like everything else.
I hate to use trendy clichés, but don't go there.

Kerry is a cancer survivor too.
I agree with your sentiments totally in every way. I just wanted to point out that he did have cancer of the prostate and beat it, I believe.
Personally, there is not much Kerry could do that I would agree with, or say, or wear.....
He's been wearing the thing for months now!
It sort of reminds me of Jimmy Carter's symbolism. Didn't seem to help the country, though.

Kerry was treated for prostate cancer. So I guess he is a survivor...
nobody knows what Kerry's health status because he won't allow for the release of his records.
No one knows if he beat it as he hasn't released his records.
He had surgery less than two years ago, but no follow up reports.
Hello Bandwagon?? One ticket please.....
I wish someone would discuss Kerry's cancer condition. After all, the threat of his ill health is very real. Edwards would take over, if that doesn't scare someone into asking, nothing will.
You know, I was wondering that, which is why I said it that way....
the man has got to go!
Or a very clever Bristol-Meyer advertising campaign!
I've never been a fan of people who wear their symbols "for donations" in public. It's like they need the public attention for their humanitarian works. I prefer those who give to charities but don't feel the need to publicize their actions.
This has nothing to do with anything other than Kerry trying to ride a cultural wave. His wife could freaking cure cancer if she wrote a check. Wearing a $2 bracelet is pretty phony considering you could write a million dollar check without blinking an eye. THAT would be worth something, while just wearing a bracelet is a political accessory.
On the inside of those bracelts, it's printed "Made in China".
No kidding.
Hmmm... I'm not sure Edwards would be worse than Kerry. Both are looney tunes, Kerry the most liberal Senator, and Edwards the third most liberal Senator. Kerry is mentally unbalanced, though.
Yellow is the winner's color of the Tour de France, hence the yellow color. Lance's girlfriend is Cheryl Crow. She is very liberal/left wing and is one of the musicians on tour to help Kerry. He should be ashamed for letting her tour with him less than 1 year after his divorce. Certainly his kids will see the video some day. My bike shop tells me that most of the people that bought the bracelets came back and complained that they broke when they tried to put them on, kinda like liberal promises.
No it's not. Treatment for prostate cancer at the stage that Kerry had is almost always 100% successful.
There's plenty to go after Kerry on. Implying that he might still have cancer is a loser, for us.
LBT, I am absolutely dying to see only one thing tonight at the debate - his skin color.
If his handlers have half a brain between 'em, they've got him standing in the shower all day today getting a scrubdown. If he ain't still orange, I'm going to be watching for loofa rash.
...paying Cheryl Crow's pedaling friend big, big bucks!
Kerry's probably wearing a yellow thong, ankle bracelet, and toe ring as well.
I think the yellow bracelet was Lance Armstrong's wifes idea. She made the first one for Armstrong and put their home address on it after she kicked him out of the house for fooling around. So, he could find his way home someday if he wants to see his small children at some point between eating Crow.
I keep waiting for the media to grill him on whether he's healthy enough to be prez, and I keep waiting, and waiting...
You'd have thought Cheney's heart thing was the end of the world, but Kerry's cancer is all but forgotten.

You are absolutely right! It does say "Made in China." Holy outsourcing, Batman! At least Kerry has taken a firm stand: he is against cancer.

Exactly! Like the Good Book says: "Do not give alms before men that you may be seen of then."
It now costs $802 million to bring a new drug to market (according to the Tufts Center).
So maybe not.
However, we'd be more likely to see a cure for cancer if Ms. Heinz-Kerry took a few of her millions and invested tham in biotech companies than by giving her money away to wacko quasi-socialist political organizations. Neither Sen. nor Ms. Kerry seem to have a clue as to how capitalism actually works.
He's behind the curve: Live Strong is so last week, and he's way too old for kiteboarding, and he catches a ball like a little girl.
Why doesn't President Bush simply wear an MIA bracelet? We still have MIAs from Vietnam even though Senator Kerry went to Vietnam and returned proclaiming loudly there were no more POWs.
We can be sure he never wore a Veteran's MIA bracelet. Have been wondering who does his manicures as well. . .
Kerry is against cancer. Implying of course that Bush is FOR cancer.
So you heard it here first: the noontime pajama people have discovered something John Kerry is definitively against. Cancer. Thank God we could find common ground.
Thank you for noting it for the record.
Kerry is a low-life exploiter.
I can see you haven't "totally" dropped the lawn jockey idea...!

Great pic.

Trying to be the second black president???
I think the bracelets are worth supporting...and just to clarify, President Bush wears them, too. http://business.bostonherald.com/businessNews/view.bg?articleid=46119
So before you insult something without thinking about it in order to insult Kerry, take a moment...
Hey newbee troll where did I insult the ribbons?
The insult is the maggot Kerry who spoils everything he touches.
Every time I see a yellow ribbon, I get the urge to take a chain saw an old oak tree.
bump!
Cancer survivors are a dime a dozen. I "survived" testicular cancer a few years ago, and see no need to wear a bracelet. Kerry's doing it for purely political reasons....
