I looked this yahwho up. Seems like a disgruntled individual with a large chip on his shoulder. Perhaps the makings of another John Kerry wanna be or something.

During one operation, "a female truck driver dropped us off and was guarding the truck when a kid about 10 years old came around the corner and started shooting at her," he says. "What does she do - shoot him or get shot?" Notice that the little b*stard doesn't seem to be suffering from PTSD or "betrayal of what's right" issues.
How about let's grab him and give him a little combat counseling? As in, "DON'T SHOOT AT THE NICE LADY SOLDIER!"
Oh, but wait -- the little b*stard is on the "right" side, isn't he?
Sorry, my bad.

These guys are prepared.
They may be prepared, but then again, they don't figure on coming back. :)

When I considered the source (Christian Science Monitor), I had some doubts but I also thought it did a fair job of covering a topic not too often discussed.

Well, at least he served. Dish him up a doc.
The person who wrote the article, though, is a little DU troll trying to make its issues big in the LMSM.

....I also thought it did a fair job of covering a topic not too often discussed. That's a function of the Left's constant scouting around for any stick or brick to beat people over the head with. It's about the beating over the head. It's not about the issue.

Good ol Charlie is Exec. Dir. of Veterans for Common Sense. It appears their agenda is pretty much to the left of center but they do advocate for increased psch. care for vets. He is also an author, but, I was pretty much bored by then so I did not pursue it farther.

I'll bet money he was a REMF in Gulf One....now making a living talking BS...if you google him it becomes apparent he is trying to sell books and is a Weasely Clark fan.
I'll tell you what the problems is...not the killing aspect, but having the Country that you are trying to protect turn on you....just as some in this Country are doing now.
Remember, the actual people who have killed someone in combat up close is fairly small. Only years later everyone becomes a front line guy....

B.G. Burkett debunked this sort of crap in his book "Stolen Valor". It's a great read. Guess I'll have to get a copy, to get the other side of the story. This one sure stinks of wing-o agenda-peddling.

Well, that's true, I'm far from the battlefield and I can't judge a soldier making either choice. However, it does not seem to me that there is a moral problem with this shot any more than any other. Emotional yes, moral no. Maybe thats JMHO. I've got kids at home, and it seems to me I'd like to go back and see them after service.

I think it's a good idea, I know some vets have a problem with having killed when they return home.

I'm sneaking in posts as I work so I can't devote too much time to trying to interpret what you mean. If you're are insinuating, even a little, that I have naively or otherwise stumbled into supporting some leftist agenda then let me state that I am probably to the right of Rush. I am tugging at the fingers of my glove.

a topic not too often discussed Yeah, it's only been movie of the week, topic of the week, book of the month.
'Not often discussed' like Lacy Peterson....
It's a big lefty topic du-jour. It's the kind of thing people who've never killed people like to wring their lilly-white hands over.
"People.... People who kill people...."

When I took basic training the Instructor wouls scream. " The Spirit of the Bayonet" and we would scream back "To kill" as we lunged with our bayonets.
I dont know if they still use that for bayonet practice or not but I think it pretty much clears up why you are there.

I see your point. However, I get most of my info and updates from Fox, FR, and Drudge so I can be as free as possible from the draining drivel of the left.
