It will only benefit the Dems IF they show up in significant numbers (and history shows that 'new' voters usually don't). And it will be offset by the fact that more black Americans are voting conservative and Republican than at any point in history.

I don't accept that if one persuades me to register that I will vote for his party as opposed to another.

Furthermore, I don't believe the figures quoted about the number of Blacks registered is greater than any other Racial group.

God Bless President Bush, our continual leader.

When it rains on election day,

I've always paid extra attention to the national weather forecast for election day...

Demonrats won't let go of their favorite buzz word, Jim Crow. 'Rats just can't stop reprising the '60s. They have an absolute nostalgia for it, as demonstrated at their convention, and again in this piece.

Republicans are not against African-Americans' voting, and it is a slander to say so. And if it weren't for the Republican Party, the voting rights amendment to the Constitution would never have been adopted post-Civil War.

It is almost a daily occurrence that a man's voice, who identifies himself as Black, or African-American, calls one of the talk shows I listen to, and declares that:
--They registered to vote
--They are not voting Democrat this time.

Ok....s**t like this is why America has a race problem....seems to me...there is a segment of our society that likes to keep racism alive and well in America....

A few well placed Republicans at polls passing out a beer to individuals to take a hike might off set their advantage.

Wow. Imagine that. Not surprising, however.

The Democrat Vote Fraud Machine is in full effect. The old Democrat playbook, here it is:

Register as many black voters in the black precincts run by black precinct judges. At the end of the night the Dems find out how many votes they need at the end of the night by doing sample polling. DNC calls up black precinct and they say they need 1,500 in this precinct, 2,300 in this precinct and so on. These precincts start stuffing the ballot box with the people who do not show up. They start signing and punching away. These precincts will turn in their votes later than anyone else and SHAZAAM, the Dems win the state by 785 votes.

Coincidence??? I don't think so.

The only way that this will not work is if Bush wins in a landslide where it will be very dificult to overcome Bush's legitimate votes.

We must pray that Bush wins in a landslide and the Dems schemes do not work and backfire.

Jim Crow-style stumbling blocks in new voters’ paths, including a requirement that voter registration cards be printed only on thick, 80-pound paper.

What dastardly tricks!!

Bush will garner double the black vote he did in 2000 thus cancelling out any registration surge.

You've hit it right on the nail. No amount of fraud will overcome a Bush advantage of 6 or more points. But . . . consider 2000. Before the election, Bush was projected ahead by 3 or 4 and lost the popular vote. Why? Certainly the DUI crap had a lot to with it, but perhaps as important was Democratic voter fraud.

This year, all indications are that the Democrats have invested large resources via their 527s to voter "turnout".

You can tell a Democrat is writing this:
"Alarmed by Black registration fervor, Republicans in Ohio deployed Secretary of State J. Kenneth Blackwell – one of their most highly valued African American spokes-models – to erect classic Jim Crow-style stumbling blocks in new voters’ way"

I know about J. Kenneth Blackwell. He was Roger Hedgecock's Roomate in College.

It was a trick question used back in the day. Voters would have to answer questions to determine their mental fitness. Some voters would get "Who is the current president?" whle those they didn't like would get"How many bubbles in a bar of soap?"
