Last night someone threw a rock through the front plate glass window of Republican Headquarters in Gettysburg, PA at Washington and Chambersburg Streets (phone 717-263-7999 if you want to verify). A few weeks ago someone also shot the plate glass window up with a pellet gun. The incident last night put a big hole through the window and shattered the glass. No one was in the office when this happened.
We went into Republican Hdgtrs when they opened today at noon to pick up some Bush signs, as our signs were stolen from our front yard last night. Glass was all over the floor. Someone has been going around for weeks stealing Bush signs out of yards in the Gettysburg area and throwing them in fields (Gettysburg Police, 717-334-1168 if you want to verify. The sign stealing has also been in the local paper, www.gettysburgtimes.com)
They know that Republicans like to buy assault rifles and didn't want to be ventilated. (c8
when the going gets tough, steal signs and break windows.

Of course, if it happened to them, they'd be screaming Kristallnacht on CNN by now.

Attacked is the right word. The office is a legitimate place of business with election signs in the window. Throwing rocks and shooting up the windows sounds like 'attack' to me.

I used to live in Waynesboro...I cant say I was ever really impressed by the area and I grew up there :)
but Gettysburg is out of the valley of hell, but just barely.

I think it would be great to wire the signs so that when they are touched, it gives a hugh electrical shock and sets off an alarm, turns on a motion light and takes a photo all at the same time. That should deter some of the theft. If you are worried about liability, put a warning sign, but since they are stolen at night the thief would never see the sign but your butt will be covered in court. After the word spreads that signs are wired, put the warning signs near all Bush signs whether they are wired or not. Maybe I could patent the idea, electric fences for political signs.

I am not sure why you listed the Franklin County Republican Headquarter telephone number instead of the Adams County, but I called and they knew nothing about the incident. I am aware of the problem in Gettysburg, but if you want people to verify your report, you need to give valid numbers.
It is about 2-1 Republican.
You gotta remember we're dealing with liars, cheats and babykillers. Stealing a few signs sounds tame, but throwing a rock through a window isn't tame to me, especially when the young lady volunteering and opening up shop is 6 months pregnant and by herself.
We're dealing with a bunch of rat-dogs here and they should be treated as such.
This is why you don't see Bush-Cheney bumper stickers; folks are afraid of vandalism, and rightly so.
I live in Shippensburg, and was never impressed with Waynesboro myself, but don't bust on it too much. There is an underground bunker/government operation in the surrounding hills in the area around Waynesboro that was one of the "secure locations" for the safe keeping of President Cheney during the days following 9-11.

Our Bush signs were stolen out of our yard last night. We have new signs and plan to bring them in at night, then out them out in the day.

There have been over 250 verified cases in Santa Fe NM where automobile windshields have been smashed because the auto has a Bush bumper sticker.
yeah that area would be nice to retire in, but I still remember living in NYC and seeing all the people...moving to that little hick town was a culture shock to say the least...
growing up there was a pain too. You are considered an outsider if you dont have more than 3 generations in the ground surrounding the town. Needless to say I didnt figure this out until I was about 12 or so and trying to make friends but finding it hard because they just considered me odd only because I wasnt born there....

And dont even try to fund the schools, especially in waynesboro, through local taxes. Its amazing they even have schools there. the kids are all told from the beginning they will just end up working in a factory or store somewhere...seriously....

The worst thing about Gettysburg is you have to drive 35 miles to get to a real bookstore. The second worst thing is the monster trucks on all the roads. This is my 3rd year living here, and I am still trying to get used to it. Give me good old DC any day...
Whatever. It was attacked as far as I am concerned. I went in to get a replacement for my stolen Bush signs and had to walk through broken glass all over the floor.

Time for you to place alot of signs on your yard, and either watch, or set up a camcorder, all night. When someone does it turn on the lights, and storm out with a bat!
You are so right about the clic of Waynesboro and the attitude about the school students. I have heard that from more than one person. They live in somewhat of a time warp. It is interesting.
We are here because my husband is retired and is into the Civil War, plus years ago during the impeachment we used to drive weekends from DC to Gettysburg to hike and get some peace of mind, and we fell in love with the quiet... I guess the quiet is deceptive...
The last I heard, Gettysburg has no police on duty after 5:00 p.m., unless you have an emergency and want to call the state police. That could be part of the problem.
Perhaps you should suggest that they put a piece of plexiglass over the front of the window.
