I don't think much refutation is necessary...just turn on the tv...I find it tragic that Buchanan is bashed for being so right on the mess we are in today in Iraq...Our standing in the Moslem world is about as high as John Kerry's on Free Republic...Wars ALWAYS result in MORE government and MORE wasteful spending and more attacks on individual freedom...Does that bother the pro-war crowd here?Apparently not...So much for being "conservative"....Ronald Reagan would NEVER have been involved in a quagmire such as this...His use of force in Grenada was calculated and prudent, not reckless and with no purpose...I've never understood why the "anti-semitic " charge always seems to have more moral compunction than say,Rudolph Guliani's attack on Mel Gibson's The Passion of the Christ..Maybe old Rudy's an anti-Catholic bigot, but that doesn't seem to matter...Find fault with something Israel does or someone who happens to be Jewish and you're automatically Hitler's illegitimate son.....Chastise a Catholic(or any conservative Christian) and nobody says anything...

I lost any tiny amount of respect that I still had for Pat when I learned that he placed all his campaign ads through a media compnay owned by his family. That means that his family got a commission (15% I think, but don't quote me on that) on every media buy he made. What did he got in Federal funds in 2000? $7,000,000.00? $12,000.000.00? Times 15% to your family = complete loss credibility.

No, he's one of the few on the Right who makes good sense....They weren't allowed at the GOP Convention...

Given the Muslims dancing in the streets after September 11, I think they hated us long before the invasion of Iraq.

Pat has it nailed on culture, trade, immigration and judges. But his foreign policy is dangerously myopic.

Buchanan is no longer a Republican. He left the party four years ago.

The American taxpayer's?

OK, thats your response... The taxpayers? Bashing Republicans would help the taxpayers how? By helping Kerry get elected so they could pay higher taxes? come on...

Have you actually read Scarborough's book? He does not tell people to vote against Bush. He simply argues that pressure must be placed on Congress and the administration to get their spending under control. If the fact that he does not pray to a shrine of Bush pictures, thinking that he and other Republican politicians can do no wrong, is offensive to you, that's your problem.

The problem is, you can't control everybody in the world...What are we supposed to do?...Declare war on the entire Islamic world?...Instead of invading places that have little or nothing to do with national security,we should have pursued a much more moderate, responsible course...The Moslem world does NOT have to be our entire enemy...We need to quit taking sides and announce our neutrality on the Palestinian/Israeli question as well as our disinterest in who governs the Middle East as long as we can trade for oil... The same people(mostly neo-cons,but not all) who say that China will change through trade, somehow want us all to put on combat boots and invade anybody in the Middle East we don't like...I think Buchanan is entirely correct to suggest that forces in America who are overly solicitious of Israel may indeed be interested in just such an outcome...Pat is saying what many think but don't have his courage to say....

Hmmmm...If I remember correctly,we were once allies with Saddam, until he made the error of invading Kuwait, which apparently got our angst...what followed was our invasion of Kuwait and war against Iraq...not to mention our economic sanctions and on and off bombing...He did not exactly fire the "first shot"...

Why should we be neutral? Israel is a democracy and stands four-square against the terrorism of the Palestinians.

You actually think we should be neutral toward suicide bombers?

At least Buchanan wouldn't have cost us over 1000 American lives and thousands more wounded in Iraq...not to mention the expansion of government that Clinton would have been proud of...It's sad that the charge of "anti-semitism" always seems to stifle the discussion and debate..But I guess that's all some have to rely on...

I'm not asking him to pray to anyone, but if he cares anything about the taxpayers like you say, he would do his best to get Bush reelected. I could only imagine the tax increases and the entitlements that Kerry would try to get passed

Why do you think they may have hated us before then?...Could it have been the fact that we always seemed to deal with them in a less than charitable fashion?...I don't doubt there is anti-semitism and fanatism amongst them(look at the irrational pro-Bush fanatism here)...But through the decades the West has not always pursued Middle Eastern policies that were well-informed...

Do you agree with Pat that we were wrong to fight against the Nazis?

Your statement above indicates you don't think we ought to challenge anybody, even those who attack us.

I prefer that my life and the lives of my kids be preserved. So, no thanks to sitting back. Your way is a prescription for national suicide.

Again, the charge of Anti-Semitism is used to stifle debate....For the record, I support self-determination for EVERYBODY...Israel and the Palestinians...but some unfortunately, want it for only one side...

Yea Buchanan is right, lets cut and run in Iraq, the Iraqi's don't deserve democracy, it's OK for our soldiers to have died in vein. The damn Iraqi's aren't worth our superior American blood or sacrifice, freedom should ONLY exist in western societies. Muslim's are to dumb to know whats good for them /sarcasm off.......

Could Pat be labeled a Racist again? Same for John Kerry and the rest of the croud that think freedom in Iraq isn't worth it...

LOL! All the Arabs have is oil, and we have made the sultans who run those countries filty rich.

These fanatics blow up their own brother Arabs. It's not just their hatred of the West that consumes them.

And they hate those Jews, don't they?

And with Buchanan we would still have an evil dictator still festering in the middle east, with the capabilities to make weapons of mass destruction, the UN was about to release sanctions on Iraq, an Iraq unfettered from sanctions would allow Saddam to restart his WMD programs and shuttle them of the terrorists, under a Pat Buchanan or a John Kerry our cities would glow in the dark....
