Close up pics of Kerry's "notes"
Frames of Debate Video ^ | Oct 3, 2004 | Jeff Head

Posted on 10/03/2004 2:01:20 PM PDT by Jeff Head

Here are the specific frames from the debate video shoqing most clearly what Kerry had in his hand as he took it out of his pocket and placed it on the podium.

I have taken two of the frames, lightened them, zoomed in, and sharpened the pics. No other enhancements have been made:

Cropped, lightened original of Kerry pulling item from pocket.

Enlarged and sharpened.

Cropped, lightened original, of Kerry putting article down.

Enlarged and sharpened.

This is not a pen. It is clearly something square, and thin, like a note card.

Good afternoon.

I just posted this on a similar thread...

Nothing new. DemocRATs cheat, almost all of them, plain and simple. They cheat on tests, they cheat on their wives, they cheat at the polls. Same ol' same ol'.

What would a democRAT be without cheating?

A Republican.

Could be one of two: (1) the original "memo" for Lehrer to give to Rather, or (2) his Form 180, but he never got the chance to present it.

I'll tell you what's worse. Those notes could prove that someone from the MSM leaked Kerry the questions. No wonder the MSM kept their mouths shut about Kerry's crib sheet.

Certainly looks like the 3x5 note cards I use when making public presentations.

Think this story will get legs in any nationwide televised or print media? What you've got here is intriguing, but it's pretty thin.

I think it's too early to say he cheated, (brought notes to help him on the debate), but I think it is very fair to say he broke the rules.

Maybe Kerry had a Groupie in the audience?

If I were married to Tehrayzah I'd want to see the name and number right away too!

I think this is much ado about nothing.

President Bush was not prepared, and if he was, then it's sad. The comedic caricatures are getting painful to watch.

IOW, we got our butts handed to us, stylely speaking. Television can be cruel. Ask Richard Nixon.

Fox News just showed Kerry slipping the cards out of his jacket and into the podium. It was clear as day at normal speed with no enlargement or enhancement.

Fox isn't saying anything (yet), but they are showing the act with no comment. I love it.

Remember the press talking about how Kerry was always looking down during the debate? Now we know why.

I just saw "the act" on Fox a moment ago and it didn't look like a piece of paper to me. It looked like a stack of 3x5 cards.

Bush is in a loose/loose situation in debates. Kerry will lie, steal, cheat and swindle. Bush will not. The major media will not report what Kerry does, so Bush will "loose" every debate. Would it be better for him just to stay at home? Too bad the moderators are not selected at random from voting rolls, or some other forum. Then we might see some un-biased questioning.

Believe me, I would be the first to say that Kerry has been cheating his entire life but I would imagine that, without an admission from Kerry, it will probably be called a 'blank note card' used to scribble down notes vice a cheatsheet. If the candidates were prohibited from having anything then forget what I just wrote.

Bush was setup by a biased Lib debate moderator.

I'm getting so tired of hearing that.

I thought Bush was winning for about the first half hour. The problem was, he got tired, made faces in front of the camera and seemed unable to present his thoughts well.

Kerry was not that strong. Most people sitting in the room thought the debate was about a draw. The press has seized on Bush's odd expressions and has declared Kerry the winner, based mostly on that.

Kerry did not win the debate. Bush lost it. He simply turned in a bad performance.

ALL : At the begining of the debate, when they shook hands, it seems to me that Kerry would not let go of GWB's hand to irritate him. Are there pictures of that too? If there is someone please post them and spread the word..

The candidates were NOT allowed to bring their own notes

The pens and note paper would be provided already at the podium

I only heard the last 20-25 minutes of the debate driving back from a political meeting, but I swore listening on the radio that Kerry knew the question before it was going to be asked. Anyone, even a skilled debater, will pause for a short period of time after the question is asked to get their thoughts together. Not Kerry, he launched right into the prepared answer.

This would make total sense!

yeah, but ... don't the debate hosts' provide them pen and paper at the podium? If I were a president or senator, the last thing I would think of is "ooops, better bring a pen and paper". The handlers would be doing that.

I was convinced later during the debate that he rotated note cards during a response.

I spent all day Friday trying to find the clip. I saw it on FOX news during the debate, but it did not show up on the CSPAN angles.

"Bush is in a loose/loose situation in debates. Kerry will lie, steal, cheat and swindle. Bush will not."

I agree with what you said about Kerry and Bush. However, now this is headlined in Drudge and being shown on Fox (though I don't know in what context), Kerry is constrained in the next two debates. He can't do what he did again because of all these eagle eyes now watching him. There could be more back camera footage taken. He can't assume he can hide anything any more.

If he brought anything tangible to the debate with him, he knowingly violated the rules...that's cheating.

It's just the nature of the cheat that's in question now.
