Bush makes significant gains in two polls of Catholic voters

President Bush is rapidly tying up the Catholic vote, according to two polls that show him gaining support among this traditionally Democratic group. The first poll, released last Monday by the Barna Group, an evangelical Christian polling firm, showed Mr. Bush, a Methodist, edging out his Catholic Democratic challenger, Sen. John Kerry, 53 percent to 39 percent.

I wouldn't call 53 to 39 "edging out". I'd call it "blowing out".

Soon enough, my friend. This LA Jew thanks you for protecting me and the undeserving leftist majority of this miserable state from danger.

Praise God! I have been chagrined by the news from Christian friends who say they are voting for Kerry because they are life-long Democrats, but totally ignore the fact that he is pro-abortion, pro-euthenasia, a certified leftist, and promoter of hate against America through his eternal lies. How can they call themselves Christian and ignore God's laws? Who would want a candidate for president who sees the UN as the moral body of law-keepers, more moral than the USA? Why would we want another Mogadishu? That's what we'd have. Kerry would not give the troops the support they need (like Clinton) and the troops would eventually have to pull back or die out. When I read what Clinton did during Mogadisu, I was furious that he was not charged with any misdemeaner, to have deployed the troops in any manner, then fail to support them was treason. It's not as if there weren't any troops available!
Who believes Kerry would do any better? IF he decides to go to the UN to see if he should increase troops or pull them back, what is your bet on the outcome? This would be a BAD day in the good ole USA! And if Kerry handed control of all our troops over to the UN, well...I don't even want to think about what that would mean. We are an administration away from disaster!

I'm pretty sure Kerry has a very comfortable lead amongst those Catholics who don't go to church, who think abortion is a good thing, and who generally reject the teachings of "their" church...

Give Kerry a day or two & he'll find a way to FLIP FLOP around the abortion issue too!

Thank you. Although I wouldn't blame you for taking a walk, I've never seen a group of supposedly well-educated, sophisticated, successful people repeatedly vote against their own interests. Hopefully, the rumors I'm hearing about more Jews voting for Bush are true. But you Christian and Catholic folks have become our staunchest allies on preserving Israel, and those of us who get it are profoundly grateful.

"After I talk about Catholic values, there's no other conclusion for people other than to vote for George Bush," he said. "I think a lot of Catholics in the last month have concluded that with George Bush, even though we disagree with him on some issues, he is best for this country."

I hope you are right about more Jews voting for our President! It never ceases to amaze me that any Jew would vote for an anti-Israel liberal.

Any Christian should know that God has deemed the preservation of Israel important---and who am I to argue with the Creator?!

This is a more important story, in the end, than the debate bump Kerry got. The bump will fade; the Catholic vote is a sign of a greater move toward Bush. No good news here for the "sky is falling!" folks! :)

Liberals are fine with stereotyping all conservatives as the religious right, however, we have in our ranks, among people I've met personally: Protestants, Catholics, Jews, Atheists, Agnostics, and Showins (Don't know the spelling).

Another case of the Liberals saying its ok to stereotype, as long as you do it in the name of "intellegence" and "protest".

I agree 100%. I am catholic and pro-life kerry's is a genocide master. President Bush will carry the catholic vote by a landslide. Kerry will get a small percentage of the brain-dead and always democrat vote. May kerry burn in hell for supporting abortion. I know there may be some psuedo catholics(CINO's) who disagree with me. As for them they can burn with him also. I'll take my stand. Oh!! I Forgot to tell them I am a different kind of catholic. I never turn the other cheek. Bush/Cheney 2004

Israel is a great country and America will always stand by you as an ally. I wish America would adopt the same counter-terrorism concepts as Israel. Political Correctness should not be allowed to thwart our counter -terrorism efforts due to offending some muzlimb terrorists/sympathizers. Profiling is a necessity, for it identifies the terrorist often before they have the chance to kill, maim or injure innocent people. May God be with you Nimbysrule. Any Christian who would vote for sKerry is not a true committed Christian. No true committed Christian would vote for a man so committed to the killing of the Unborn and homosexual marriage.

One only needs to ask the simple question. If Jesus were alive today and voting would HE vote for sKerry? The answer would be a RESOUNDING NO.

Yes they had. If you claim to be a Christian you really need to be examining what your core of belief's are. It is the responsibility of every believer to follow the Word on who to vote for. If you do not take that responsibility seriously I believe that is a sin, and God will not bless this country like He has in the past. No I do not believe that God is a Republican, but it is easy to determine that He is on the side of righteous. No abortion, gay marriage and a strong support of the military to make sure that we do not loose our freedom.

Last night I spoke with the wife of an Evangelical pastor.
Her comment was:"Most of the people in our church are just not comfortable with Kerry, regardless of their party affiliation".

She was very careful not to discuss specific social issues, but said that it goes beyond their Biblical beliefs. On a human level, Kerry is not making any connection. People simply do not believe him on anything at all.

I just joined the Fellowship of Christians and Jews because having been brought up during and after the 2nd WW, I always had a soft spot in my heart for the Jewish people. FCJ does a lot to help support Jewish immigration from Russia and helping them when they come to Israel. They also give food packages to the elderly Jews in Russia who are so poor. That documentary is what made me join. It's a wonderful organization.

It's disturbing to me to hear of certain churches who claim to be Christian (NOT!) who are turning their backs on Israel. God will not be pleased, nor will He continue to bless their churches. How dumb can you get?
