Seriously, what is it? And why is it hairy?
"No props, notes, charts, diagrams, or other writings or other tangible things may be brought into the debate by either candidate.... Each candidate must submit to the staff of the Commission prior to the debate all such paper and any pens or pencils with which a candidate may wish to take notes during the debate, and the staff or commission will place such paper, pens and pencils on the podium..."
the unfolding action could have just been taking the cap off the pen and putting it on top. The videos on the internet are not clear enough to show that it is not a pen, so I'd say it is time to let this one go.
Mostly what he said was who would be shocked if the Dems played some dirty tricks and that they did cheat. He was not very excited about it and wanted everyone to concentrate on the "more important things" concerning this election. My view is, even if we shouldn't be shocked, they shouldn't be able to get away with it! If Bush had done this they would be talking about impeachment already!
Ok now we have Britgate. I think we are living in George Orwell's 1984 and the Television/Film Media is Big Brother. They put up a single shot and we are suppose to say OK and not believe our lying eyes.
For some reason they the TV Media does not want to touch this. I am going to start believing the Bilderberg Conspiracy and think they have already decided they need Kerry to President and the rest of us are along for the ride. Googe Bilderberg and decide for yourself.
Brit - how could you?
It was a "slight of hand" type of deal. He pulled out a pen as he faced forward but did a "switcheroo" move with the paper or notecards............there SHOULD have been an OVERHEAD camera!!!!!!!
Agreed ......everyone needs to put Thursday night behind us......and get on with the rest of the campaign.
If you are linking it, obviously you are seeing it.
You need to get a serious grip.
I'm starting to wonder about FoxNews in general. They're getting as bad as the rest. I had to turn off Fox and Friends as I was getting ready for work today, as E.D. was making me ill.
Yeah, I saw all the pics posted here, including Jeff Head's. The light reflection off the pen could very well create on one pixelated frame a flash that covers an area larger than the pen's width, hence the appearance of what was mistaken for a white edge.
Sorry, but Brit isn't an idiot, and checked this out before bringing it up on his show. If he says it is a pen, and that shot he showed looks exactly like that, then I believe him. Also note that, at least until a few moments ago, no one had spotted him pulling anything out of his coat more than the single instance.
Yeah, no kidding.
Fox News was the designated pool video reporter for the debate. CSPAN didn't take their own video of the event. Fox would have all of the angles.
CSPAN could have ran with whatever video Fox was providing in their truck or whatever they were using to rebroadcast Fox's signal. Maybe CSPAN has it, but Fox would be the ones who had the originals.
