Unfortunately, I think this is the wave of the future. The Left will embrace Muslim culture because it embodies all that is anti-American (anti-Western). For all their hyperbole about equality, secularism, etc., what they really want is an ideology that helps them subvert the people to their will. They thought Marxism was it, but they are slowly understanding that Marxism has nothing on Islam.
