French Police Find Anti-Aircraft Missiles in Raid on ETA Hideouts

French officials say they found two portable anti-aircraft missiles among weapons seized in weekend raids against suspected members of Spain's Basque separatist group, ETA.
French authorities said Tuesday the surface-to-air missiles were found under houses in Urrugne and Briscous near the Spanish border.
The raids led to the arrests of ETA political leader Mikel Albizu Iriarte and other suspected separatists fighting for an independent Basque homeland in the region.
ETA is blamed by Spanish authorities for more than 800 deaths in the group's violent campaign that has continued for more than four decades.

Now, are the frenchies going to destroy the SAMs or are they going to resell them back to another terrorist group?
I think the UN should be called in to verify the find and make sure these people get a fair trial in a neutral country.

A Spanish Interior Ministry spokeswoman said Sunday that fingerprints confirmed the identities of Mikel "Antza" Albisu Iriarte and his female companion, Soledad "Anboto" Iparraguire. They were being held along with 18 other terror suspects arrested in raids in seven towns and villages in France near the border with Spain, and one in Spain itself.

Soviet Missiles Seized From ETA Caches - Reports circulating Tuesday in the Basque country said there were two missiles and suggested ETA bought them from Irish traffickers. Connections between the Irish Republican Army and ETA are well-known.
