And President Bush even made nice to The Swimmer and let him write the Education Bill! ..even honored the Bootlegger Clan at some Texas A&M dedication!

For what? More drunken raves directed at President Bush!

So that's a valid excuse for doing nothing?

The Democrat filibuster certainly keeps them from doing a lot. Passing anything in this Senate requires BI-PARTISAN support right now. Any the answer from the morons on this thread is to replace all but the "purest" conservative Republicans with Democrats??

And that is somehow going to produce legislation more to your liking?
Having a Republican Senate that "does nothing" is a hell of a lot better than a Democrat Senate that does a whole lot!

Would it really stress you to vote for one of the "R" guys who could stand the tests of the above article? I thought were were intent on turning this nation toward the right on all issues.

Ultimately, the solution lies in the hands of the American people

And the political solution is...?

Vote for a CONSERVATIVE, or stay at home!

And equally as important, don't buy into the RINO line that conservatives can't win. Seems they'd just as soon we forgot about that entire Reagan Revolution thing...

Johnny Isakson will replace Zell Miller. The D (Denise Majette) candidate will not win in Georgia.

Of course not; but I'm not EVER going to vote for ANY Democrat for ANYTHING. Period.

And as I stated above, Jim has already said that people aren't going to use this web site to deny office to Republicans who are running for office.

Yes, he's even endorsed at least one liberal - Schwarzenegger, over the conservative Republican candidate - McClintock. What's up with that?

A vote for... x is a vote for y, so elect a liberal?

I'm going to preface my replies (more than one on this thrwead) with the fact that just as I have a healthy distrust of Big Army, I share your distrust of Big Government. So, here goes...

I always thought that's what Republicans were - more money for strengthening the military and less money for the National Endowment of the Arts and NPR and the federal Board of Education.

I submit to you that, just as incrementalism got us here, it might be the only road back, as well - at least on the domestic side. After the GWOT began, we had to make instant and overnight changes in defense and the force structure. The situation didn't grant us the luxury of an incremental change, at least towards the war.

The same aggressive schedule can't be applied to the domestic side - there are just too many handout recipients (some of them soldiers) to pull the plug on the apparatus.

All through the piece, I kept reading the usual bullets: RINO sellouts, not conservative enough, Patriot Act bad, yadayada. This Vance fella didn't mention the defense angle a single time - the single most important issue which trumps all others, for none of the others are worth considering if defense isn't solid.

And equally as important, don't buy into the RINO line that conservatives can't win.

So what is the explanation for Alan Keyes' dismissal showing; he is, after all, a "genuine conservative." Don't try to deny it; his own web site says he is.

Victimhood is a liberal trait.

The usual mewlers here drip with victimization. They were legitimate and loud victims of Clinton (to a limited degree) on FR between 97-01, and some of them are just absolutely, pathologically incapable of not being illegitimate and loud victims of RINOs from 01 going forward.

The GOP IS the Party of conservatism. So sorry folks. Some of the brilliant Constitutional Scholars around here should really pull out the Constitution every now and then and check out Articles I and III of that tome and figure out that the House and Senate exist, and there are institutional checks and balances on the demands of True Conservative internet heros.

Those checks and balances manifest themselves in the form of Democrats and their corrupt flunky jurists, and as the owner of the forum has noted wisely, until we rid the body politik of these clowns none of our fondest Conservative hopes and desires will be realized.

So stop the whining, quit lazily blaming every problem in life on mythical RINOs (it's a meaningless term) and start doing smart things politically to get your needs met.

Agree. My brother, the fine liberal that he is, bet me I would never vote for a DemocRAT. Zell WAS the exception.
