Our son is a Lt. in the Navy voting for the first time. He does not want to have all of the problems that they suffered with the Clintons.

Look. The lies, misrepresentations, mischaracterizations, inuendos, repeated untruths and false claims of the democrat party are starting to erode their remaining base of working people. They are losing ground irregardless of the extremism in their bitterness toward the 2002 election. Peter Jennings, Tom Brokaw and the soon to be retired Dan Rather literally sat on a "platform" this weekend and accused all of us, YOU AND ME, of committing internet jihad. They are losing to truth because truth has a way of finding it's backers. How many times have you heard someone call Rush, Sean, Neal, etal and explain that they used to be democrat but have now seen the light. Suddenly "Buckhead" (actually FreeRepublic)ferreted out a completely fraudulent report on CBS and the world went beserk. Those of us who want to see an honest and open debate on matters went beserk with glee. Those who want the American public to live in the darkness of falsehoods about big government went beserk with accusations. Who is the truth bearer here? It is those who would bathe every argument in sunshine. Tom Brokaw sat right there and accused US of not doing that even though that is EXACTLY what we are doing. Shame on you Tom. Shame on all of you for the path you have led casual listeners down for decades. The world is changing.

Tom, Peter and Dan. You are buggy whips.

This poll shows that 17% of members of the US Navy needs to have their "Uniforms Straightened."

"... Who ARE those 17%? There ARE intellectual requirements to enlist, you know!"

Speaking as a former serviceman, I can tell you that there are some real mouth-breathing dipwads in the military.

I don't bring it up because we here on FR like to celebrate our uniformed services.

The suppression of the military vote is something that worries me greatly. What's interesting about the 2000 election in Florida is that the Gore campaign (and now the Kerry campaign) said that the Minority vote was suppressed by the Bush campaign. HOWEVER - the only votes that were truly suppressed were those from the military serving abroad.

According to my husband, who was in the AF and stationed in England, it is up to each individual to vote on time. But, those fighting in Iraq, Afghanistan and on any aircraft carrier will have a challenge getting their votes in on time and, making sure they are properly postmarked (which is the issue that threw out many of the military votes in 2000).

When the military vote usually isn't counted, because it usually isn't needed, how can we be sure that this year, the voice of our military is heard?

'62% approve of Iraq mission/handling'

That's not high enough.

I bet our troops in Iraq would poll a higher percentage.
