He just doesn't have the charisma to be a leader. In another era he sure could have been the top contender though...""

I disagree: Cheney can turn on the charisma any time he wants. His eyes dance with mischief, and he speaks with a certainty no DIM knows. He is attentive and polite, and he gives off an aura of being able to handle anything thrown at him. He just doesn't want the job. He would impress any foreign leader, I believe, because he speaks with a straight tongue and any human-even a crazy person like ARAFAT- realizes that in very short time.

I think Cheney lights up a room every time he enters, and I don't think he blows his own horn every time he opens his mouth. His wife, Lynn, is supposed to be even brighter than Dick.

sKerry on the other hand, leaves the constant impression that he is trying every new moment to impress you with who he is and what he is. Skerry is an empty suit, IMO. As my brother would say: sKerry is stealing oxygen.

A will is also what's used to leave funeral instructions.

Good point. My lesbian niece died and her girlfriend (who it was later discouvered may have had something to do with the death) was thoroughly included. I want to point out that she refused to be included in paying the costs. She only wanted to be included in the newspaper and the planning and seating arrangements. My sister paid everything. But when it came to material things, again the girlfriend felt entitled to everything. She wanted the benefits without the liabilities. Not being married was to her advantage. Besides, the lesbian community in that city alternates partners so frequently that the only winners would be wedding planners and divorce attorneys. They are a troubled bunch of people -- very profane and violent too.

Why isn't Cheney President? Because Bush hasn't died.

You can forget about most conservatives voting for Rudy for president. He is no more moral than Bill Clinton. He can be useful elsewhere.

"A very, very, very liberal friend of mine said this morning, and meaning it, "Why can't Kerry be President and Cheney Vice President?" Believe me, from someone like that, that is the highest of compliments."

What was your answer?

BTW, welcome to you!
One reason is because of his health. Can you imagine the talking points for the dems.

The points would be concerning his health. Then his politics.

He is a wonderful man! There aren't too many around with his experience and polish!
And Lynn would be a great First Lady!

Who knows? It could still happen. But don't count on it. He has no aspirations on being President!

allows for anything that the homosexual lobby wants.

No. It doesn't accomplish the only thing the homosexual lobby wants. The only thing it wants is the power to compel Americans to accept, embrace, sanction, approve, endorse, and recognize homosexual relations and activity.

He seems pretty strong on immigration from what I've heard him say.

He is much more conservative than W and that's not a knock on W, I like Bush, but we need a new Reagan!

Agreed. I admire Rudy for his strength after 9/11, and I think he'd be OK in the Senate, at least as far as ousting Hillary (he's the only one with a shot). RINO for sure, but better than the Hildebeast. He could also play a good Secretary of Defense, but keep him away from social policy.

Mike Hucabee is a great man and a great speaker. He spone at our church when our pastor was out with heart surgery. The only problem is that he is Rev. Mike Hucabee. I do not live in Arkansas, but in Tenn. so we see the fruits of his labor as govenaor. Good jobs, good roads, ect.

Gee, I dunno, that's a toughie. Maybe because Bush won the GOP primaries, the GOP nomination and then the general election in 2000?

I hate to disappoint you, but you're using logic on a newbie who posted a vanity thread. You haven't had your first cup of coffee yet this morning, have you?

Err, correct - I should have written, "what they say they want."

In fact, what they truly want is the denigration and disparagement, and quite possibly eventual criminalization, of normal relationships.

Once you move outside of the morality issue, cohabitation without legal strings has a lot of legal advantages for individuals.

Edwards delved into emotional mumbo jumbo, while ignoring the true purpose behind the push for a change in the way society treats gay couples. It's all about benifits from 3rd parties & government entities. They wanna be able to force employers to cover gay couples under the same rules as they cover married couples on health care plans. They want to keep special protections as a "special class" in things like "fair housing". Social Security & pensions, where there are "widows" bennies are other "rights" they want. As we tear down the marriage penalty in tax law, they want in on it. Finally, they want equal treatment (read preferential, as they hold on to their special class protections) in adoption.
