This is the most important UN-related story since Kurt Waldheim, and it is the most under-reported story of the past three years. This scandal lies at the root of the International resistance to the Iraq war and the reconstruction efforts. The NYT, as far as I know, has never printed a single front-page article on this and probably not a single article at all. The WSJ, thankfully, has continually brought up the subject.

We should all write our representatives. I would do an email just for numbers' sake, but to make an impact, write a letter and handwrite the address and return address on the envelope. The letter should be typed so as to be legible, signed and dated. These details make a difference.

Thanks for the link to the list. Worth noting is under Britain George Galloway. This man is a Member of Parliament, and yet received 19million barrels. He has recently formed his own political party (Respect) as he is too extreme even for the Labour Party.

He is engaged in a libel law-suit against The Daily Telegraph which first printed the allegation. Personally, I believe that the lawsuit should be a criminal one, against him, a charge of High Treason against the Crown.
