"Investigators said Ahmad also obtained classified military documents describing the movements and formations of a Navy battle group. He was exchanging e-mails with an enlisted man aboard the USS Benfold, a Navy destroyer, authorities said."

I was wondering what happened with that sailor.

Azzam.com- sounds like an Islamic online book seller :p

Wow. I used to work at ev1.net. I can tell you a little bit about the political climate in the NOC et al:

Lots of Goths, occult and hacker freaks in there. One guy actually was one of the folks who did the famous hack the White House web site in the 90's with all the Clinton parody music files.
He said the FBI confiscated his computers, but never pressed charges.

Ev1 also has one of the worst reputations as a spammer domain, since their TOS is often not widely enforced. To top it all off, for $10 a month you get 300MB of free web space, a dialup account and unlimited emails- thats not a pitch, but it would serve someone with questionable motives rather well.
Some of the employees even ran questionable sites from computers inside Ev1.

Robert Marsh (the president) however is a strong Bush supporter- or he was when I worked there through 2001.
