Anyone listening to this guy on Roger Hedgecock?
Sounds like a great book, has anyone gotten it yet?
It is either not yet released or just coming out...
Is this "War in the Shadows" that was published in 1975? I've brought the 2 volume set used on Amazon but haven't read it yet. I'm presently reading "War of the Flea" another great book.
I was listening to Roger Hedgecock, too, and the book sounded great! Time to go to Amazon...
"It's the wrong book at the wrong time by the wrong author"
-John Kerry stated when ask about this book recently(sarc)
Miniter was interviewed last night by Brit Hume on FNC
He was amazing. I liked these tidbits: "We've captured/killed 300 a-Q members in 102 countries since 9/11" and "Foiling one plot a day". This election is so very important....
no it's the follow-up to his prior release "Losing Bin Ladin" & focuses on how US is winning WOT
Is this the guy from Stratcom?
No, It's called "Shadow War: How the Bush administration is winning the war on terror.
It's filled with War on Terror stories from around the globe and it sounds very very intrguing. I don't buy many books, only two political in my life (First Hannity book and first Savage book), but I definently plan on checking this one out.
A few things from it that I can remember from his interview with Hedgecock.. Some intelligence agencies believe bin Laden is in Iran.. There was an assasination plot against Bush last October that was foiled.. stories from Tora Bora and many other things.
In response to Kerry/Edwards assertion that we shouldn't have outsourced the US Military to Afghan warlords in Tora Bora, and that we should have had tens of thousands of troops there, the writer said (I forget his name) that the Kerry strategy was the same strategy the Soviet Union used in the 80s in Tora Bora and they were slaughtered.
It sounds like a great book.
Absolutely! GW should just read from this text Friday night! It's so hard to battle someone with the freedom to say anything he wants (Lurch) without fear of being challenged when you (GW) are trying to keep intel from the enemy.... These stats should be shouted from the mountaintops! God help us if any lib ever ascends to this lands highest office...ever...
Thanks I looked it up on Amazon it sounds like a good read. I'm in the middle of Tommy Franks new book "American Soldier" right now and it's a real eye opener too.
Hence my tagline. BTW, welcome to FreeRepublic. This is a special place...
reading it now. worth it!!
Most welcome. You're not alone in jumping into the fray. Here's some stats on signups for this place (which shows why the fundraiser went so fast): http://www.freerepublic.com/perl/weekday-report?r=s Gotta get some work done (this place is addictive). Take care out there...
is this the same guy that wrote about Task Force Dagger?
Our Customers' Advice
1 person recommended "The Fairy Chronicles Book One : Marigold and the Feather of Hope" in addition to Shadow War: The Untold Story of How Bush Is Winning the War on Terror
Just heard the author this A.M. He didn't vote for W. the first time around and it wasn't intended to be a pro admin book.
After all the real success in the shadow war, there is no doubt about who is the man tho lead this country.
The Bush admin has created a coalition of ties to the intel services in 106 countries. It has smashed the Al -Qeda network in S.E. Asia. Lots of details on who is helping.
Amazingly enough, the French intelligence service is cooperating with us. For political reasons, they have to bad-mouth the U.S.
The book and author, Richard Miniter, give credence to the thought that the main stream media is actively working against the Bush admin.
