KERRY'S CASE COLLAPSES
MSNBC ^ | October 7, 2004 | Glenn Reynolds

Posted on 10/07/2004 11:20:38 AM PDT by Question Liberal Authority

Although everybody's talking about weapons of mass destruction, the story that's not being reported --you'd almost think the press "wants Kerry to win"-- is the complete collapse of John Kerry's foreign policy case, and the reason for that collapse.

The ISG, who confirmed last autumn that they had found no WMD, last night presented detailed findings from interviews with Iraqi officials and documents laying out his plans to bribe foreign businessmen and politicians.

While suturing a laceration on the hand of an 80-year-old grizzled Texas rancher (whose hand had caught in a gate while working cattle), a doctor and the old man were talking about John Kerry's possibility of being in the White House.

The old Texan said, "Well, ya know, Kerry's one of them 'post turtles'."

Not knowing what the old man meant, the doctor asked him what a post turtle was.

The old man said, "Well, when you're driving down a country road and you come across a fence post with a turtle balanced on top, that's a post turtle."

The old man saw a puzzled look on the doctor's face, so he continued to explain, "You know he didn't get there by himself, he doesn't belong there, he can't get anything done while he's up there, and you just want to help the poor dumb bastard get down 'afore he hurts hisself."

Nuff said............

WOW! MSNBC? What? Good editorial!

He is right on! I love the quote: "This sounds like the John Kerry of 1971. I can't help but think that, for Kerry, every war is Vietnam. And if he's President, I'm afraid that might turn out to be the case."

Time to e-mail the writer and tell him good job.

Body bags. This sounds like the John Kerry of 1971. I can't help but think that, for Kerry, every war is Vietnam. And if he's President, I'm afraid that might turn out to be the case.

That's a good point. For Kerry, Iraq is Vietnam. For Bush, it's WWII. Which one do you prefer?

Vote accordingly.

If the author is the same Glenn Reynolds I'm thinking of, he also runs the excellent Instapundit blog.

I didn't know he was writing for MSNBC as well.

The message in this article needs to be hammered home.
I hope President Bush studies the article carefully. It's a lot more articulate than anything that was said in the past two debates.

It's hard to pass the "Global Test" when the people grading it are being bribed to administer a failing grade.

This part of the report has been ignored (of course) by the MSM so far. I hope it gains traction.

MSNBC? Now that FOX is going liberal and leaving a vast majority of conservative viewers in their wake, is MSNBC swooping in for the pick-up? Will this be a trend now that Tom Brokaw is stepping down? Hey, I wouldn't mind. MSNBC has much better graphics than those dark, brooding colors on FOX News. I just hope they don't forget what made FOX fun to watch...

Don't underestimate the internet so quickly.

The MSM doesn't have its old lock on the way information is spread anymore.

Dubya needs to address the American public from the (Oval Office) about what is REALLY happening in Iraq and set the record straight on the lies coming out from Kerry and the DNC.

Maybe so. But would you like to make a bet? When GWB does as you suggest (announce a foreign policy speech to be given from the Oval office), it will either be:

1. uncovered by the broadcast networks on the grounds that this is a campaign speech when given this close to the election; or

2. the broadcast media would cover the speech, but then turn around and offer free time to Kerry to provide 'balance'; or

3. any broadcast network that doesn't do either 1 or 2 gets sued through the FCC for providing an 'unpaid campaign ad'.

Maybe so, but I'm betting they roll the dice on it anyway. Plus, anybody who is an 'uncommitted voter' at this point is just a ninny, and not likely to be seeking their News on the Internet.

Kerry had once supported removing Saddam Hussein from power but now "says it was all a mistake."

They connected the dots in 1998 but Senator Kerry and MSM can't seem to connect the dots in 2004.

Here is an easy to read chart of what the media was saying pre-911 (and after): Connect the Dots...Saddam Hussein and Osama bin Laden.
