How to stop national ID card

Stage Setting For The Mark Of The Beast Revelation 13:16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads: 17 And that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name. 18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six. Beware of the New World Order of which you are in the midst!

How to stop national ID card

By Rep. Ron Paul, R-TX © 1998 WorldNetDaily.com Just prior to my election to Congress, a piece of legislation was passed which was intended to stem the tide of illegal aliens coming into our nation. While the goals were laudable, even the best of legislative intentions can produce results which are reprehensible. Such is the case with an obscure section of the Illegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996. This section authorizes the federal Department of Transportation to establish national requirements for birth certificates and drivers' licenses. The provision, a small part of a major piece of legislation passed at the end of the 104th Congress, represents an unprecedented power grab by the federal government and a threat to the liberties of every American, for it would essentially transform state drivers' licenses into national ID cards. Under the current state of the law, the citizens of states which have drivers' licenses that do not conform to the federal standards by October 1, 2000, will find themselves essentially stripped of their ability to participate in life as we know it. On that date, Americans will not be able to get a job, open a bank account, apply for Social Security or Medicare, exercise their Second Amendment rights, or even take an airplane flight, unless they can produce a state-issued ID that conforms to the federal specifications. Further, under the terms of the 1996 Kennedy-Kassebaum health-care law, Americans may be forced to present this federally-approved drivers' license before consulting a physician for medical treatment! This situation is decidedly un-American, contrary to our heritage of individual liberty and states' rights. The federal government has no constitutional authority to require Americans to present any form of identification before engaging in any private transaction, such as opening a bank account, seeking employment, or especially seeing a doctor. The establishment of a "national" drivers' license and birth certificate makes a mockery of the 10th amendment and the principles of federalism. While no state is "forced" to accept the federal standards, is it unlikely they will refuse to comply when such action would mean none of their residents could get a job, receive Social Security, leave the state by plane, or have access to medical care. So rather than imposing a direct mandate on the states, the federal government is blackmailing them into complying with federal dictates. It is for this reason that I am introducing the Freedom and Privacy Restoration Act, with Rep. Bob Barr of Georgia as a cosponsor. As the law stands now, the government is in a position to inappropriately monitor the movements and transactions of every citizen. History shows that when government gains the power to monitor the actions of the people, it eventually uses that power to impose totalitarian controls on the populace. What would the founders of this country say if they knew the limited federal government they bequeathed to future generations would have grown to such a size that it claims power to demand all Americans obtain a federally-approved ID before getting a job? They would no doubt be disappointed. But if the disapproval of the founders is not sufficient to cause Congress to repeal the requirements, then perhaps the reaction of the American people when they discover that they must produce a federally-approved ID in order to open a bank account or see the doctor will turn the tide. Already congressional offices are being flooded with complaints about the movement toward a national ID card; imagine the public's surprise when they realize that not only is a national ID movement underway, but will be a reality by October 1, 2000. Despite pleas for federal correction of societal wrongs, a national ID, followed surely by a national police force, is neither prudent nor constitutional. While it is easy to give in to the rhetoric of "protecting" children or some other defenseless group, we must be cautious that in a rush to provide protection in the short-term, we do not do permanent damage to our national heritage of liberty. As Benjamin Franklin once wrote, those who would give up essential liberty for temporary security deserve neither liberty nor security. Where our security and liberty is concerned, we must remain constantly vigilant and uncompromisingly devoted. Ron Paul represents the 14th District of Texas in the United States House. He can be contacted at his Washington office, 203 Cannon HOB, Washington, DC 20515, or at his web site. http://www.wnd.com/news/article.asp?ARTICLE_ID=16654

These people are all over the subway here handing out photocopied flyers that look like they were typed on Dan Rather's typewriter. I say it's rubbish. I have a "national identity card" here in Canada (a Permanent Resident, or PR card) and I can't see that it has caused me any trouble to the present date. You guys need to get over the Black Helicopters thing.

Paragraphs are our friend.

If a national ID card is what we need to rid our country of illegal aliens I am all for it. Which is worse being overrun or controlled?

Anything, But Christianity… The New World Order

You have to understand what a one world religious system would be. There are many main stream religions that all have one thing in common. There is only one religion that differs from all the others. It is a difference of salvation in eternity. All religions, but one, teach that salvation can be obtained in part by keeping the standards, of what that particular religion claims to be, from their God. Christianity (Acts 26:28) of the Holy Bible teaches that Salvation is through the finished works of Christ alone. Good works do not affect salvation in eternity in any form.

Eph 2:8 For by grace are ye saved through faith; and that not of yourselves: it is the gift of God: 9 Not of works, lest any man should boast.

Ro 11:6 And if by grace, then is it no more of works: otherwise grace is no more grace. But if it be of works, then is it no more grace: otherwise work is no more work.

2Ti 1:9 Who hath saved us, and called us with an holy calling, not according to our works, but according to his own purpose and grace, which was given us in Christ Jesus before the world began,

Ro 6:23 For the wages of sin is death; but the gift of God is eternal life through Jesus Christ our Lord.

When the religious leader of the largest system in the world performs great miracles, he will say they are signs and miracles from God. People of all works based faiths will unite under him for the common good of mankind. He will teach that all religions are from the same God and valid as such. This spirit is already in the world. It is kind of like the “Anything, but Bush” spirit that we see prevalent during the elections this year. The Moslems will embrace the Religious system that says they do not have to change in a united effort to get rid of true Christianity. The world and especially Muslims are conditioned to accept these types of deceptive miracles as being from God.

Which is worse being overrun or controlled?

We'll slowly get both. Gradually though, not all at once.

The Holy Bible tells us that there will be a one world government along with a one world religious system. If you look at this from a biblical perspective instead of a “protect us from the terrorist” perspective you will be seeing the bigger picture. Ultimately God is our protector. Which is great because God is also the one who grants us liberty. The government has convinced the American people by and large that they are the grantors of liberty. Now they are becoming our protectors in a very convincing manner. The protection of the government is the bondage of liberty.
We have all have been conditioned and will continue to be condition in a greater manner to receive the mark of the beast. When the actual mark of the beast rolls out onto the world stage people will be so conditioned they will line up to receive it. People will not be able to get the mark of the beast fast enough. The one world religious government system will have had convinced most everyone that the mark of the beast is good for them. Especially if they want to buy food.

"How to stop national ID card " or How to stop the mark of the beast?

Since the Bible prophecies the mark of the beast, how could anyone stop it?

I have studied the Bible for a long time now, and I don't see anything in it that seems to oppose a standardized national ID that verifies my citizenship.

Enforcing immigration and voting laws begins with accurate ID.

Agreed.

I'm a police officer and we are constantly running into people, generally Mexicans but sometimes others, who speak little English (or pretend not to) and who have NO U.S. issued identification.

The cops have no way to check to see if a driver's license from Puerta De Stinkhole is valid or not. We have no way to verify these people's identity.

Homeland security my arse.

I have said for years that the reason the our government (encourages) allows Mexicans to enter the US illegally is so that people like you would say we need the (RF)ID to stop the illegal aliens. We have been being set up for years.
I cherish my God granted freedom/ liberty more than I do the governments (racketeers) protection. I see what the government has done and is doing as plain as day. I hope you do to.

A national ID card would be an annoyance, but it is hardly the mark of the beast. The mark of the beast must imply a transfer of loyalty to evil, a rejection of the good. It will not be a simple ID card.

"I have studied the Bible for a long time now, and I don't see anything in it that seems to oppose a standardized national ID that verifies my citizenship."

Does this help?
2Sa 22:3 The God of my rock; in him will I trust: he is my shield, and the horn of my salvation, my high tower, and my refuge, my saviour; thou savest me from violence.

God is the grantor of liberty. NOT The Government. God is our rightful protector. NOT The Government. God gives authority to the government to punish wickedness. God is the one who sets the standards of what wickedness is. NOT The Government. A nation that follows God is blessed. Ps 33:12 Blessed is the nation whose God is the LORD; and the people whom he hath chosen for his own inheritance. A nation that does not follow God enslaves its people. When Government disobeys God you should pay close attention because it is you and yours that they want control of.

"it is hardly the mark of the beast"

That is why I stated it is the stage setting for the mark of the beast. It is blatant conditioning and control. Just like the government burning down of Davidian church (www.warroom.com/waco.htm), the Oklahoma bombing (www.apfn.org/OKC/third.htm) and the World Trade Center (http://www.rense.com/general46/911V.HTM). These events do not mean that totalitarianism is here in the US. It just means that totalitarianism is well on the way.

I fail to understand how legal authorities being able to tell who you really are (not what it is says on fake ID you bought for $50) constitutes tyranny, oppression or the triumph of Satan. Until Americans citizens have a biometric ID database you will never fix voter fraud, illegal immigration, identity theft and welfare fraud.

What he fails to ralize in his worry about a National ID is that anyone who has a passport already has one.

Many (if not all) of the EU countries have a REAL National ID (in addition to their EU passports) already.

I used to have a lot of problems with the National ID concept, but think it to be a requirement now...period
