Once again, consubstutution is a High Anglican representation of the Real Presence in Holy Communion. No Lutheran body that I am aware of (might be wrong on this though!) has ever officially taught consubstution.

However, the Lutheran doctrine is similar to the Orthodox on this point, in that we believe Jesus's Body and Blood is present. We are just not to clear about how that happens.

Yep, they don't call it "sodomy" for nothing.

People that claim that the Bible has little or nothing to say about homosexuality have probably read little or nothing of the Bible.

As quite a few RCC view non Latin rite RCC's as apostates. We have enough nuts on both sides of the Tiber for a pretty good fruitcake.

They can do that all they like - the difference is that only the Holy See gets to decide who is an apostate and who isn't.

And, in point of fact, 99% of supposed Catholics who call non-Tridentine Catholics apostates do not themselves acknowledge the legitimacy of the Pope - which means they've excommunicated themselves.

I speak as a Catholic who attends the Latin Mass exclusively and who, as a Catholic, acknowledges the Holy See to be the only competent judge in such matters.

I, too, was accepted into the RC communion without the necessity of a second baptism.

The only 'protestant' Baptism that I know the Catholic Church does NOT recognize is that of the LDS.

And with good reason, of course.

Thank you for the information.

I guess in my mind, when I think of the "Baptist denomination", I am really thinking about the member churches of the Southern Baptist Convention.

I am familiar with the concept of believers baptism and I do understand that it may be a bit of a stretch of scriptures for inflant baptism. However I do believe that it fits within scripture.

I also know that some Baptist churches here in the South will not accept a baptism unless it is by full immersion.

Well, yes, Baptists are a little sticky about baptism. We consider the word to mean immersion. I should have been clearer. Pouring/sprinkling just doesn't enter the thoughts of Baptists when they think of baptism.

I know. My sister-in-law went from the Methodist church to the Southern Baptist church (good move IMHO) and had to be dunked.

By Latin rite I meant Roman Catholic, as opposed to Byzantine or Ukrainian Catholics who are in communion with Rome. I don't know if you ever ran into this, but it used to be fairly common in areas.

Ran into Catholics of other rites? Or ran into foolish Catholics who thought that Catholics of other rites weren't Catholics?

I know many Ukrainian Catholics and I used to live down the street from their Cathedral in downtown NYC.

I don't think I've met a Catholic silly enough to say that Eastern Rite Catholics weren't Catholics. Though in Chicago there is probably some confusion due to the fakers known as the PNCC.

That is good.

I have run into a few who viewed all non Latin rite Catholics as "Not true Catholics". There was also a few Marionite (sp) Catholics that would talk about Jesuits burning their theology books at one time or another.

Here is a little demoninational humor:

A man walked into the Women's Department of Macy's in New York City,
and told the sales lady, "I would like a size 36B Baptist bra for my
wife."

With a puzzled look the sales lady asked, "What kind of bra?"

He repeated, "A Baptist bra... She said to tell you that she
wanted a Baptist Bra, and that you would know what she wanted."

"Ah, now I remember", said the sales lady. "We don't get as many
requests for them as we used to. Lately, most of our customers
either want the Catholic bra, or the Salvation Army bra, or the Presbyterian
bra."

Confused and a little flustered, the man asked, "So, what's the
difference?"

The lady responded, "It's all quite simple, really. The Catholic
type supports the masses. The Salvation Army type lifts up the
fallen, and the Presbyterian type helps keep 'em staunch and upright."

The man pondered this information for a minute, and then asked,
"So, what does the Baptist type do?"

"They..." she replied, "make mountains out of molehills."
