"But I think the whole premise of the swing voter idea is stupid."
Absolutely correct. Let's all cater to the people who have put the least time, effort and focus into the campaigns, the people least interested. Yeah, the candidates must try to win these votes, but the country should not adjust the process to accomodate, or in some way elevate these people to a position of significance.
Count on it.

I hope they do. That kind of stunt will backfire immensely against Kerry.
bump
Yes, and I believe his name is Charlie Gibson.
This will backfire if it is true. W can handle a bunch of uneducated neo-hippies, and I have a feeling he will not be so 'polite' this time.
Or, the Wellstone funeral.
Protesters snuck into the Republican convention under the guise of being Republican volunteers.
I fully anticipate a major disruption. Hope this will make people feel sympathetic towards the President.
Or anytime DUmmies open their mouths...
Sounds like them.
Do you remeber the town hall debate in 2000? That was so stacked with Defecrats tat even SNL played it up HUGE in their parody. They had the questioners says things along the lines of "Hi, I'm Fred an undecided voter and I just want to ask Mr. Bush, why is it that you want to destroy America?"
Probably be the same thing this time around too.
"It is our understanding that Charlie Gibson, the moderator for tonight's debate is not supposed to allow any questions that deviate from the "script", and if they do, he is supposed to mention that and move on. However, forgive us if we don't think this is fail-safe."
Yeah and I have some swamp land in FL for sale.
Let's face the facts.
The old media and dims are in for the "fix"
It should have been 2 debates. One from the PBS hack Jim and the other with Brit Hume.
The townhall is scripted b.s. that always blows up in someone's face. Is it me or does it seem like the Bush/Cheney campaign is shooting itself in the foot the last 2 weeks?
Comments from McCain,Condi,Bremer,Powell,Bush not doing well at the debates, and Cheney's multiple slip up's at the debate...they almost want to come across like they don't want the upper hand that the American public gave them.
And yes before you attack me on what I just said I do realize that you can twist perceptions but reality won't budge.
To be expected.
Let's hope Rove hasn't been sleeping and WE are doing the same thing.
What if they act up and Kerry does a "Sistah Soulja" Clinton thing and stands up and tells them to show some respect for the President and the other attendees. The press would eat it up! I am not so sure that disrupters would help the Pres.
Just a thought....how come we never hear of radical rightists doing things like this? ...rhetorical question:ON
LOL!
Gee, couldn't see this one coming from a mile away.
LOL! Coffee spew!
