What ever happened to the case?

I would loved to have seen Cobb being arrested. He used to go postal over nothing.

An usher seated him and I in the wrong seats at an Astros game once and had to later ask us to move back several rows. I felt sorry for her.

"My other theory is the political situation has become very bad. Voter dissatisfaction has reached such a level that the third party messages would get a lot of traction with fed-up voters, so that message must be suppressed. "

That's what it looks like to me.

1980 was interesting, Anderson got to debate along side Reagan and Carter. Anderson wasn't going to win, but, as the media reminded us back then, the "Democratic Process" requires that many voices and opinions be heard.

This country was set up as a Republic, not a Democracy, but the "Democratic Process" of people getting to say their piece was favored.

Some people say the issues are too important this time. In 1980 we had the Iran Hostage crisis, and many other issues of the day. Carter & Reagan were different from each other.

"You'd think that two presidential candidates being arrested for civil disobedience would have been newsworthy, but no."

A minor point. Technically, they were trying to "serve papers", it is illegal in interfere with that process. Clinton couldn't stop the guys that entered the Whitehouse to serve papers.

From a security viewpoint; Badnarik & Cobb were able to "break through" the police line? Imagine how far actual terrorist could have gotten....

It's obvious that very few Americans are going to do the research needed to find the Libertarian Party website. That doesn't mean they don't have a valid message.

Perhaps if the LP extended it's recruiting efforts beyond the latest NORML convention in San Francisco ...
