233 members of Congress have visited the troops in Iraq so far.

One hundred ninety-one were House members:
121 Republicans, and 70 Democrats.
Forty-two were senators: 24 Republicans and 18 Dems.
Eight senators have made two trips, and one has made three.

Neither Kerry nor Edwards has taken time away from manicures, hairstyling appointments, and campaign stops
to talk to the men and women who are putting their lives on the line in Iraq
and to see the facts on the ground.

That's leadership for you.

I just had a thought. Remember he spend Christmas Day in Cambodia in 1969 and wrote a letter to President Nixon ( even though Nixon wasn't president yet.) So perhaps he was in Iraq while he wasn't there at all.

Good question... why didnt you go to Iraq? ... another tough question that Gibson and the others tossed aside so they could ask Bush about those 'biggest mistakes' he made.

Why am I not surprised? Kerry and Edwards hardly show up for their regular jobs in the Senate. Thanks, Tonk.

I have never understood why this hasn't been pointed out more often. How can Kerry attempt to talk about what's going on in Iraq when he hasn't been there? For Kerry to infer in the debate that the pictures on the nightly news is an accurate picture of Iraq is intellectually dishonest (wait, scratch "intellectually"). It's proof that Kerry et al get their foreign policy briefings from the NY Times and from scraps of paper in Sandy Berger's underwear.

While Edwards and Kerry should make a visit to Iraq, it is my belief that it will only make them look desperate for the military votes.

... IF the military votes are even COUNTED. Last I heard, it was expected that many military votes from overseas would not make it here by the deadline to be counted.

You are right and thanks to the Swiftees that when Kerry thought he was under fire, HE TURNED AND RAN, LEAVING ALL OF HIS OTHER COMRADES BEHIND AND THEN HE LIED ABOUT IT AND GAVE HIMSELF ANOTHER Purple Heart and Bronze Star.....

Memo to Karl Rove -- this is fine ammo for the next debate.

Note in particular that both Edwards and Kerry claimed in the debates that Iraq is in "chaos" and Americans know it because that is what they see on their TV every day. Iow, they are using the leftist media script in Iraq.

These members of Congress who made the trip, along with our service people and the Iraqis themselves, have a different story to tell. They have inspected with their own eyes. Kerry and Edwards have not.

NEW KERRY AD

" George Bush claims John Kerry is a flip-flop artist. Here is the truth about John Kerry.........

"John Kerry for 20 years has consistently cut to the front of any line for any theatre ticket, groceries, or public event, and when questioned by those in line exclaimed "do you know who I am?"

" John Kerry has consistenly voted for ultra left wing causes whenever he managed to show up to vote"

" John Kerry consistently and relentlessly sought medals for combat in Vietnam....even when he ran when cornered"

"John Kerry has consistenly stood by his treasonous statement about his fellow comrades in arms, even when some were prisoners of war"

" John Kerry consistently married women with a net worth of between 200-750,000,000.00......Never those of the middle classes"

"John Kerry BELIEVES in John Kerry"

"John Kerry....rich,radical,reprobate"

Paid for by union members whether they liked it or not!!

That clip should be used in ads. It shows that sKerry had/has no clue - giving up on the cold war (or just not wanting to fight it for whatever reason), then Reagan went on to win it.

I don't think he said Walter Reed, just that he had visited some wounded soldiers. Are there any veteran hospitals in the St. Louis area?
