A mosquito is a nuisance, so a more "sensitive" approach will be required.

This is the second Times article in a week to accurately portray Kerry as a dangerous *ssh*le. What's going on over there?

"...it's not threatening the fabric of your life."

This guy is so nuts I can't believe they let him wander around without keepers. The mere thought of him winning this election gives me hives.

It seems like Kerry wants us to be 'tolerant' of terror as a means to combatting it. You see, if we can just trust that big government is fighting terror like it's fighting prostititution and gambling then we'll all feel better again. Our personal terror stratum can be reduced to a mere 'nuisance' level and we can get on with life without all this war nonsense. When terror strikes accross town we can just say: "Hey, that there terror attack accross town sure was bad Myrtle, thank God it missed us and Kerry will catch those criminals, now pass the peas". Kerry is dangerously delusional.

That was an amazing essay that the NYTimes carried by Matt Bai. I'm not sure if the NYTimes intended on having it be so spot on negative. It really revealed a lot about John Kerry and why he should never be allowed to become POTUS. The closing paragraph sums Kerry's stance on terrorism nicely.

When Kerry first told me that Sept. 11 had not changed him, I was surprised. I assumed everyone in America -- and certainly in Washington -- had been changed by that day. I assumed he was being overly cautious, afraid of providing his opponents with yet another cheap opportunity to call him a flip-flopper. What I came to understand was that, in fact, the attacks really had not changed the way Kerry viewed or talked about terrorism -- which is exactly why he has come across, to some voters, as less of a leader than he could be. He may well have understood the threat from Al Qaeda long before the rest of us. And he may well be right, despite the ridicule from Cheney and others, when he says that a multinational, law-enforcement-like approach can be more effective in fighting terrorists. But his less lofty vision might have seemed more satisfying -- and would have been easier to talk about in a political campaign -- in a world where the twin towers still stood.

It fits in with his whole political career.
His solution to the cold war was unilateral disarmament (can anyone say "France before WWII")
His solution to terrorism is not taking the threat as a declaration of war
His solution to nuclear proliferation is:
1. giving Iran nuclear fuel, and
2.not developing our defenses against ICBM's, or our bunker buster technology.

This guy doesn't deserve to be an american. I hope the FBI still has a file active on him. WHo knows who he is in a conspiracy with this time.

Will Kerry's statement that terrorism is a nuisance change the New Jerseny Widows' minds or do they hate Bush so much that they'd vote for this shallow man?

He truely is UNFIT to head this nation. We really do know who he is.

I wonder how the family members of those who lost their lives on 9/11 feel about this.

''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' Kerry said.

Kerry has frequently said "I have a plan" with very little elaboration. Now it becomes clear waht he had in mind :
A pre 9/11 time machine.

How brilliant.

And he accuses Dubya of living in a fantasy world?

As with fascism, communism and totalitarianism in general, appeasement is not a viable alternative when it comes to terrorism. The US has been under attack from Islamic terrorists for the last 25 years. The 1990`s was a decade that contained some of the worst terrorist attacks in history. From the first WTC bombing, to the Khobar Towers, to the 1998 embassy bombings in Rwandi and finally to the attack on the USS Cole.

John Kerry's agenda is right out of the liberal playbook of the Democratic Party. It is a dangerous policy that would give the terrorists new found hope on expanding their international operations.

Terrorism should never be handled as a law enforcement operation first and foremost. Diplomacy with these Islamic terrorists is out of the question. If Kerry was elected, that's exactly what would happen.

The WoT is a military operation, first and foremost. President Bush made the right decision to invade Iraq. Iraq is the frontline in the WoT and we must win.

Last I heard, being/visiting a prostitute and going to a gambling establishment were voluntary.

As far as I know, the 3,000+ killed on 9/11 and the people killed before and since in terrorist attacks didn't volunteer to be killed.

Correction. The 1998 embassy bombings were in Kenya, Tanzania and Nairobi.

these comments shocked me

He'll just say he was inarticulate in his statement on terrorism, just like he told Diane Sawyers about his "$87 billion dollar statement".

This is the first time Kerry's position has been laid out so clearly for me. Given that I knew little about his position before reading the article, I think it was a fair piece by the NYT.

After reading it carefully I understand why JFK is so reluctant to clarify his position on terror. At best it's naive and laughable. It's the French position without the benefit of bribe money from the Oil for Castles Program.

The fact that Kerry's polling over 25% is troubling. That he's a viable Presidential contender is extremly dangerous for America.

Yeah this "War on Terror" should be about as successful as the "war on drugs" and the "war on poverty."

It's so obvious that all we have to do is decriminalize terror. That will push the evil-doers out of the terror business, just like legalizing liquor broke the back of organized crime.

I am with you on this article -- if this ever made it to all the voters, he would be total history. I don't see how anyone that thinks could vote for Kerry. I was astounded as I read the article as his total arrogance.

I'm still reeling from his attitude toward terrorism....a nuisance. Regardless of his 4 months and 12 days in Vietnam, he hasn't learned a thing about WAR. It simply has not gotten through his helmet-haired head that terrorists want to kill us.

If one on his and Terayyyza's mansions gets razed w/a terrorist bomb, there will be "hell to pay".

The 2 of them couldn't even put up w/a fire hydrant in front of ONE of their mansions, so they had it removed soas to make themselves another parking space. The hell w/fire protection for the neighbors. 'Guess that hydrant was a nuisance too. They are not to be annoyed, you understand. HA

He's going to be VERY annoyed to see his life-long ambition to be President go down the drain.

WE also have a PLAN!

There's also a "Newsweek" article, posted about half way through last week (I'm posting on 10/11), about a major Kerry donor being on the take with Saddam's oil for food scam to the tune of about 22 million $$. In addition, just before Bill Clinton went under the knife he gave Kerry a 45 minute "confidential" lecture on proper campaigning, which Clinton's shills promptly leaked to the press.

None of this derogatory material about Kerry would have been printed in the liberal DemonRat press without the Clintons' approval. The NYT article would have simply ignored the "nuisance" quote the way the NYT ignored the Swiftvets unless NYT management had received the word to release it. The Clintons have switched their phasers from stun to kill and are firing them at the heart of the Kerry campaign. If this doesn't work, they'll probably leak his complete military files abot a week before the election.

"I know we're never going to end prostitution. We're never going to end illegal gambling."

''We have to get back to the place we were, where terrorists are not the focus of our lives, but they're a nuisance,'' Kerry said.

As a former law-enforcement person, will send in Miami Vice and try to control those terrorist which are a nuisance.
