Neither did I! I had the answer after scanning the title.
I hope Kofi and the French and the Russians get their comeuppance about the oil for food scandal!
Do you have that problem, too? It seems like Windows has swallowed up half of the great pics I've saved.
The US shouldn't fund ANY of it!!
Regards.
Maybe sunny Somalia or Sudan perhaps? Or Maybe jolly ol Rwanda? I hear Libia is great and has some great beaches too?
Of course the USA will not pay a dime to it anymore.
The short answer is "yes." For members of the UN to have taken financial consideration in order to effect the nullification of sitting UN resolutions is by definition corrupt. For them to curse the United States for enforcing those resolutions is by definition corrupt. For them to cover up for it afterward and attempt to shift the blame to the blameless is by definition corrupt. This isn't difficult.
yes, yes it is.
Hopeless for whom?
To decide if something is incapable of meeting its design objectives, one must first determine what those objectives are.
I would say that the likelihood of the U.S. getting anything 'good' out of the U.N. is probably comparable to the likelihood of my winning the Mega Millions and Powerball on the same day, especially since I seldom play either.
But if anyone would be so kind as to post it or a link to it that would be very nice of them, if not I'm sure I'll run across it again in a few months.
In a word, "yes."
Kill it before it multiplies:)
This article is about the Republic of China on Taiwan, not the un-United Nations. The "One China" policy is a sham. The Taiwanese people deserve our unqualified support, and the Chinese overlords on the mainland deserve our contempt.
Yes....next question....
Why on earth are they watching CNN? Can't they get FOX over there?
Just based on the headline, this ought to be a pretty brief thread.
It was. It is. And always shall be. Live Short And Die!
Is a bear Catholic?
"Is the U.N.hopelessly corrupt?"
Yes.
Next question.
It is a bureacracy and govt. that can never be replaced either by voting them out, or by revolution. Has there ever been a bureacracy or governing body in the history of man with those properties that has not been hopelessly corrupt ?
Most governments become more and more corrupt over time and are only "reformed" by armed insurrection or in democracies, a crushing defeat at the ballot box. And yes, if the republican party ever seizes complete control for 20-30 years, it too will be corrupt to the core and will need to be voted out.
Excellent point! Corrupt or no, there's never been such a body, period. At least not that I can think of. Another reason to fear the bastards. The UN has GOT to go, and Chirac with it.
