Results of our unoffical poll: Bush 100%, Kerry 0%
Survey of 34 PGA pros. 26 said they are voting for Bush, the other eight were either undecided, not voting, or would not reveal their choice.
Some quotes:
I'm voting for Bush. I don't think you will find anybody on this tour voting for Kerry. - Bob Tway
Bush, for sure. Wheter the guy makes mistakes or not, his heart is in the right place. - David Toms
George Bush Sr. has been like a grandfather to guys like me. I'll vote for his son again, because what he stands for morally is more important that the politics side of it. - Davis Love III
I hate to say I'm personal friends with the family...but I'm personal friends of the family. George W. Bush gets my vote. - Brad Faxon
I love Bush. I just think he speaks about God and is a Christian man. That's what I'm about. - Kenny Perry
I don't think Bush is screwing up the country that bad. - Rich Beem
Bush. I'm going to vote my pocketbook. - Jonathan Kaye
Huge Bush fan. Hate the Democrats. - Fred Funk
As terrorism goes, so goes the economy. I just trust (Bush) more to do everything he can to prevent that. - Paul Azinger
Bush. I think he has brought honor back to the presidency. - Jeff Sluman
Bush. I like his style, his leadership, his humility, his beliefs. - Hal Sutton
We certainly don't have anything to vote for on the Democratic side. - Soctt Hoch
******
I can honestly say I've never voted and probably won't this time around. - Todd Hamilton
Do you have to ask? - Scott Verplank
I'm not going to vote. I don't like either one of them. - Mark Calcavecchia.
No comment. I'm a registered Democrat. - David Duval
*****
Also, a Golf World survey of 20 American LPGA Tour players revealed that 13 plan to vote for Bush, 3 for Kerry, and 4 were undecided.
No wonder I love golf so much.....and Freddy Funk.
What an endorsement! Stop the presses and buy up some more commercial time!
Figures.
BUSH WINS - Survey: Not surprisingly, the PGA tour leans way right when it come to politics.
So does NASCAR and MLB.
David Duval in the Darth Vader shades is a lib? Say it ant so..
Good connection of the dots.
His golf game has gone to Hell, too. Apparently, it went the way of his judgment.
Hmmm, no Tiger. Although I guess he's otherwise occupied at the moment. ;-)
"Fore" More Years?
Explains a lot about David Duval. You can't stay on top if you are conditioned to believing you are a victim. At the top of his backswing, he's thinking "I'm not good enough, I need government assistance" and the next thing you know, there goes the ball into the woods, and his career with it.
My gosh. Duval reads Ayn Rand. How can he be a democrat?
Who's Tiger Woods voting for?
That's what I wondered, too.
Maybe that is why his game has gone south since 2000, too depressed about not having a dem in the white house.
He doesn't discuss his politics all that much but I do know he supports the military and WOT so I'd say he's probably voting for Bush.
I think Tiger is a Rep. Remember all the stuff he did for the troops including going through some training?
I am pretty sure that Prescott Bush had served as President (?) of the PGA.
..and a pure head case.
I still hope he gets his game back together...and his head!
Yeah, Tiger's dad was what, Green Beret? I would guess he is fairly conservative.
Tiger did snub Bill Clinton a while back when he was in the White House..
Correction:
http://www.presidentscup.com/teams/honorarychairmen.html
Bush's father, Prescott S. Bush, also served as USGA president in 1935.
And Michael Moore made fun of Bush for golfing in August 2001. I'll take the entire PGA over the editors of Windsurfer Magazine anyday.
I forgot about the snub of Clinton. I think Tiger is a class act regardless of his party preference.
Well, his values and work ethic are NOT with J eff'n K so my guess is he would vote W.
Of course, I don't know if having Hal Sutton tout someone's leadership is an endorsement....... :^(
It explains his weak back and history of losing
Just another reason Zinger is still one of my all-time favorite golfers and persons. Payne would have been solid "W" also.
Thanks for the post! I book marked it for when the article comes out!
This coming from Dufus Duval doesn't surprise me one bit. He's never impressed me on the PGA tour. He's a SORE loser (where have we heard that before?!). He's always taken his game and THE game too darn seriously and it shows...he just can't win the big ones; he's always taken himself too darn seriously...just like so many other phony, pompous RATs! Good riddance, Dufus Duval. You don't deserve to hang your hat on the same rack as the GREATs of the game of golf...notably Jack Nicholas, Arnold Palmer, Bobby Jones, et al. -- including the late GREAT Payne Stewart!
Short and to the point, eh? LOL.
Either he is voting Bush and can not admit it publicly, or John Kerry has promised him that he will implement a "talent redistribution program" for formerly great, but now shitty players on the PGA Tour.
Lehman lives here in Arizona and he is a HUGE conservative. I think I've even heard him in endorsement commercials for conservatives here in the past.
This is good to hear. Thanks.
Yup, Lehman is a big time conservative, very much like Kenny Perry.
The following is a list of those who were regular attenders at the weekly Tour Bible study group a few years ago and identified themselves as Christians. It is not a current list... Lanny Wadkins, Andy Bean and Bob Gilder are now playing the Champions circuit and the status of others may have changed. Nevertheless, it gives an indication of the interests of the individuals.
Those in the first group were identified as PGA Tour Card Holders. The second group are PGA Tour Non-Card Holders. Both, obviously, at the time the list was made.
Again I emphasize, this is not a current list.
There is an additional list of many who attend the Bible study quite often but may not consider themselves as members of the group.
Another list consists of those on the Champions Tour. That study, as the regular Tour study, has been greatly influenced by Larry Nelson.

Fred Couples will also vote for President Bush, he has vacationed a few times up at Kennybunkport, with the Bushes. In fact he holds the course record at their home course.
"There's no more gutless golfer on the PGA tour."
Or selfish!!! I was a vendor in the merch. tent for the U.S. Open this year and heard that Duval, (after posting like an 84 and 88) that everytime he put one if the rough, he took a penalty stroke and dropped back in the fairway because of his back injury. He didn't want it to flare up again by trying to hit out of that rough. So basically, he took a truly coveted spot from another player whose ultimate dream it could've been to play in a U.S. open just to "drop" when he put it in the rough....
TRULY LOW-CLASS!!! IMHO, ofcourse...
No wonder I love golf so much.....and Freddy Funk.
And I thought I was the only Funk Fan here. Freddie is the workin' man's golfer, and a there's no more truer Gentleman out there. For that matter, you won't find truer Gentlemen than any of the guys on the tour, except maybe Colin (Puddin' Ass) Montgomery and Tom (Just Plain Ass) Kite. Some may say Daily when he's drinking, but we all know his Mamma taught him better.
MMMMM, twins.
That being said, nine out of ten windsurfers support Kerry. And the vote was unanimous on queer bikers for Kerry.
Yes, but that can't beat the transgendered ballet dancers for Kerry. (TGBDFK) They are 200% for the Big John, getting one vote as a man, and one as a woman, a real force to be reckoned with come November.
a bump for the evening crowd
